@Dr_Done_ Yes I know... ACP = BAD. But comments slagging her off for knowing more about imaging than your average junior doctor being a diagnostic radiographer... I'm not having that. Choose your battles. Avg junior doc in a&e dont know sh*t about imaging. Its embarrassing.
@Dr_Done_ Radiologist adds value. But its unfair to say radiolographers contribute zero to when it comes to understanding why we are doing a scan and indications for a scan etc. As a radiology reg im often baffled by how little docs know about why they are asking for as scan... *sigh*
@Dr_Done_ Reporting radiographeds def have issues same as sonographers as they dont understand the bigger clinical picture behind an x ray finding like doctors do. I will often do an ultrasound and look at bloods and PMH and previous MR/CT/x ray etc. So the radiologist adds more value.
@Dr_Done_ Hmmm I agree the discharging and taking referrals is wrong. But in my experience experienced radiographers with diagnostic qualifications interpreting x rays are pretty good and their standards for passing plain film exams are higher than radiology FRCR rapids for x rays only.
@Shilisad1@Janeajnet@Dr_Done_ Doctors are trained to interpret basic chest x ray and abdo x ray in med school. You have to be a med reg to confidently say that an NG tube is in place but should be able to recognise basic pathology on CXR and AXR as an fy1 and fy2. Radiology reports are another matter
Why are resident doctors striking?
Fully qualified doctor: £38,800
Doctor’s assistant: £47,810
Name *any* other profession where an assistant is paid £9,010 more than their supervisor.
@wesstreeting you continue to enable this farce when nhs funding is so scarce.
This is terrible news. Practitioner Health saved me when I couldn't save myself. Was on the verge of quitting medicine & very ill after covid ward/ITU experiences. Fully recovered now but couldn't have done it without amazing psychiatrist at PH. This CAN'T happen.
Over 3000 signatories in less than 6 hours.
This is a service that's saved multiple NHS doctors from suicide.
Why aren't you listening, @AmandaPritchard, @VictoriaAtkins, @NHSEngland?
Why don't you care?
Do you really think so little now of those pandemic "heroes"???

@OwenJones84 WRONG. It was always a serious health condition. There are plenty of non cancerous conditions which can kill you/permantly change your life. She had major abnormal surgery! That was made clear from the outset. Cancer or not she has been treated very badly by the media.
@IamNowAMedic Try to do one if you can 😊 quite satisfying and is often big relief for patient when it's done! Did they do it under ultrasound or was it done with the tappy tappy tappy method?
Dear 🇬🇧,
Wanna hear a joke? The @Conservatives have just called themselves “The Party of the NHS”. 😂 They are, in fact, the greatest threat to the NHS in its 75 year history. So if you value the health of your family, please, don’t vote for them ever again.

@donesdg@Dr_Done_ Lol GEM was so competitive I couldn't get in so had to do the standard 5 year course using my life savings for the fees for a second degree. The GEM courses are really tough, tons of great colleagues did GEM.
