The website will feature centralized, easy-to-access information regarding the department and all the work we do to help prepare our children to be the next leaders of an ever-changing world.

In the coming days, the Department of Education will announce a set of initiatives as part of our #EducationIsKey mission statement, along with a website for quick, up-to-date, and centralized information regarding the department.

I come from a family of educators. I knew early on that I wanted to follow in their footsteps in educating the next generation of America, which is why I've committed two decades to doing so.

I truly am honored to have been nominated for Secretary of Education.

My heart goes out to the family of Firefighter Liam Grant, who has sadly passed away, as announced just a few minutes ago.

He was a hero in life and will forever be remembered as such for his brave and selfless work.

I send my best wishes to Assemblywoman Sinclair and her family on their new, upcoming journey in Vermont--a state of natural beauty, much like New York.
