@BitcoinWeasel@financedystop Companies have an incentive to pay as little as possible. The candidate might be making 100k in their current job and the budget for this role might be 160k to 200k. If the candidate quotes 125k, the company will hire him at 125k. They are not incentivized to go to 160k.
@bobasfk Not every big tech company functions like this and believe it or not, Big Tech employees get paid humongous amounts of money. Unionization and collective bargaining is not in the interest of high performers as it slows their careers down at the expense of poor performers.
@vetrivel1996 The massive levels of corruption as the number one reason. From Rs. 10 per bottle of alcohol & 10k for a marriage certificate to 10 lakhs for approving solar contracts and 0.5% for completing property registration. Both the DMK and the AIADMK have taken turns to loot the people.
@elonmusk Do you plan on releasing Grok on AWS? The model is amazing and has an excellent price point and would serve as a capable replacement for Anthropic models for customers with AWS workloads.
@alexandrtheok_ @DSPetolicchio Ben, @RubinReport and @DLoesch are the only right wing pundits who has shown consistent moral clarity for the last decade.
If you are a conservative, the responses and the quote tweets to this extraordinary episode will tell you whom to follow and whom to block. Shapiro continues to remain the moral standard bearer and the conscience of the conservative movement.
No to the groypers.
No to cowards like Tucker Carlson, who normalize their trash.
No to those who champion them.
No to demoralization.
No to bigotry and anti-meritocratic horseshit.
No to anti-Americanism.
No.
@AverageDude37@Neil_X10 Yep. Basically selling PUT at strike price X and buying a call at the same strike price. If the options are out of the money, the net cost is usually a credit. They are leveraged positions though. I have been hedging with some long puts at a lower strike price.
@Neil_X10 Yep. I bought loads of 50 dollar synthetics earlier in the year when the stock was trading around 38. As the stock has gone up I have bought back some of the synthetics periodically to lower my leverage. Will lower it further if the stock spikes up following the China deal news.
@megbasham@ThomisticDan Hindus don’t answer to your god. Your god is as false a god to us as our gods are to you. We don’t recognize the bible’s authority anymore than you would recognize our books. Religious freedom is a good thing. You can follow your religion whose teachings we reject and vice versa.
@akhileshutup The responses in the comments are clearly indicative of people’s lack of understanding of how free markets should function. They think it is normal for a company to peg your compensation to previous compensation instead of letting free markets determine that.
