If the same empathy had been shown when students peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar faced allegations of force and were pleading to protect the integrity of their future, the nation's faith in democratic accountability would have been even stronger.

In a democracy, dissent is not a crime—it is a constitutional right. Students cannot be called "our children" only when they make mistakes, while their concerns are overlooked when they raise their voices for fairness.

Leadership is measured not only by words of forgiveness, but by ensuring that every student is treated with dignity, heard without fear, and protected by the rule of law.

India's youth deserve consistency in justice, compassion in governance, and accountability in every circumstance.

The Police has now released all detainees just before one hour ago. They had illegally been detained for peacefully protesting for over a day, but the Police has had to bow down to public pressure.

The CJP is no longer conducting its dharna at the Delhi Police HQ.
