Today’s hearing was a purely performative.
Republicans dragged grieving families into a conversation about “sanctuary cities” — knowing full well Congress doesn’t oversee city policy. That’s not our lane.
Our job is to conduct oversight of the federal government. Period.
Instead of doing that, they chose to exploit people’s pain to score political points.
If they actually cared about safety, they’d fix the federal failures they’re responsible for. But they don’t.
On April 20, @TAMU hosts Mike Pence for (reportedly) up to $800k "Civil Discourse" symposium. Meanwhile, my Ethics course was canceled for the "crime" of discussing race & gender. This isn't a symposium; it's a smokescreen.
Discourse requires honesty, not just "politeness." If you ban the expertise of your own professors, you aren’t fostering dialogue—you’re managing an echo chamber.
Texas A&M says they want "leaders of character".
Character means standing up for the truth, even when political winds blow. I’m standing. Are you? ✊
Meet us at the Rudder Fountain, April 20 at 3pm. Let’s show them what real civil discourse looks like.

It’s amazing how America says things like we want “change,” and then never actually elects change agents! Look at the insane cycle of abuse that we keep subjecting ourselves to! Yes, Trump, is by far the most abusive, but telling lies & waging war, while destroying our economy is a familiar refrain…
It is time to get serious & honest about the people that we elect that literally are making life or death decisions both here & abroad. No one will be PERFECT, no matter how many times the internet will lie & say their fav candidate is, but it’s not about perfection, it’s about seeking a more perfect union…
It’s truly exhausting to have been SO RIGHT & to travel the country & try to ring the alarm, but for it to fall on deaf ears or this country just decide that qualifications & heart, matter not, when they are embodied within a non patriarchal figure…
"Electability" has become a weapon used against candidates who don't fit a certain mold. @ColinAllredTX and I are unpacking this issue and why Texas—and America—deserves better. Don't miss this important conversation.

Here is my testimony to the Texas A&M Board of Regents on February 5, opposing their censorship of race, gender, and sexuality topics and the politicization of our classrooms.
She navigates these conversations with a level of precision and authenticity you can’t manufacture.
This isn’t something you workshop. It’s not poll-tested. It’s lived. And people can feel the difference.
GO VOTE FOR JASMINE!
Texas A&M’s dishonesty keeps deepening. On a radio show, Interim President Tommy Williams falsely claimed I sought an “exemption” from censorship in one class but acted in bad faith in another.
Truth: the course he cited was fully developed by the Bush School’s Extended Ed. I played no role in seeking any exemptions or in the design of the course.
Texas A&M University refuses to tell the truth to justify censorship. This is not a misunderstanding. It is an intentional misrepresentation of the facts.
Their problem is that we see through them!
More than 300 people rallied Thursday evening at Texas A&M University in College Station, saying a new ban on teaching about race and gender is censoring classroom instruction and threatening academic freedom.
A&M sophomore Madeline Kiser held a poster that read, "Don't cheapen our degrees."
"It's embarrassing if I graduate from a university that isn't allowed to teach adults — who wanted to be here," said Kiser, an English major. "It's really sad to walk into class and have professors have to dance around topics. I see it in my classes, the switch in demeanor."

Crockett: "You only love enforcement when they're going after Black, brown, immigrants, that kind of folk. But on January 6, you didn't care about law enforcement."
I never thought in my lifetime I’d see Oklahoma State with a national #1 recruiting ranking of any sort in football- regardless of the circumstances.
I understand the sheer volume is very impactful, but it takes a special staff and administration to accomplish this.
Go Pokes!
