So I agree it could only be extortion if you are asked money in deterrence to get beaten up, which some soldiers do.
But the way some of you is justifying nonsense is what I don't get. Are you simply saying one should be beaten up for wearing soldiers custome. Is that what you are saying?
Are you that daft? Don't you understand human rights?
Yes, there is a law against wearing army related clothes if the intent is to impersonate but the law does not state that soldiers should assault. The law doesn't permit soldiers to beat them up. The law doesn't permit soldiers to tell them to start doing press up on the road. That's battery. Soldiers are not authorized to beat civilian in such cases. A soldier does not have a legal right to beat a civilian simply because the civilian has broken a law, disobeyed an order, or shown disrespect. A soldier can only beat a civilian in self defence, defence of others that are vulnerable, resisting arrest, military or security granted operations or preventing high level crimes like terrorism. And even in all of these cases the force must be necessary, reasonable and proportionate.
What the law says about a civilian wearing a military related clothing is for them to be arrested if their is an intent to impersonate and then hand over to the authorities for further investigation.
A soldier assaulting a civilian for wearing military related clothes is disobeying the law.
A soldiers job is to protect, not to assault a civilian.
@Pressman2040 I disagree with the part where you said “the military has zero tolerance for extortion”. Nigeria military is the only military I know that will beat you on the road for wearing a cloth similar to theirs.
That was wrong of you. That was a slur.
Even if it was a friendly banter when you did it, it cost you nothing to apologize instead of coming here to flex ur tissues.
We all remember the outrage here when someone called Ekaette a house maid, translating to people from your states are housemaids.
Gabriels reaction show he felt obviously offended, he just let it go cos he was being professional and didn't want to casuse a scene on set.
It cost you nothing to admit you didn't know it was a slur, and apologized.
A friendly banter about twitter dragging 2 years ago with my colleagues, Gabriel & Kenny( yoruba o) who are laughing & contributing. Agenda must agend!
I am too blessed to be stressed.
Curse/abuse returns to sender so that it renews their hope & transforms their lives!
@TheYorubaTimes You don't understand what these Yoruba actors did. Its better to leave them for their tomfoolery than argue with them.
Believe me that's what I do, I mostly just ignore them when they start their nonsense.
TIME FOR NATIONAL RECONCILIATION, RE-ORIENTATION & RECONSTRUCTION
The 2027 Presidential election is expected to be a major fight between PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU and his biggest challenger, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR. It promises to be the battle of the Tians. A third force, hopefully, may show up, like it did in 2023, but not with enough fire power and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen.
This is why it has become pertinent, and urgent, for our dear party ADC to change the traditional way of playing politics by becoming a link between the old and modern, conservative and cosmopolitan tendencies, veteran politicians and technocrats in government. There's no better combination than this duo, assuring of a colorful blend. The North and the South will reunite in a game of ethnic & religious rivalries.
The present combustive tensions, and absolute chaos, cannot be allowed to continue. It will consume all of us.
The time has come to retrace our steps and return to the days of robust ideas, ideologies and inspirational figures. Our founding fathers such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, The Sardauna Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and others, tried their best, even if they were not perfect. Today, we've completely derailed from the legacies they bequeathed to us. The politics of gansterism has become unbearably malignant in our nation. This is the type of strong bridge we need between the North and the South.
We must act before it is too late...
AARE DELE MOMODU
IF PETER OBI EVER BECOMES PRESIDENT;
✅Fuel price will drop so low that filling stations will start selling fuel on credit to government
✅Food prices will drop so much that mama put will start giving change with “thank you for buying”
✅Electricity will be so stable that NEPA jokes will become museum artifacts
✅Inflation will behave like a disciplined student, no more sudden surprises
✅Dollars will start looking for naira in the market exchange like lost relatives
✅Traffic in Lagos will start apologizing for wasting people’s time
✅Corruption will start updating its CV to retired permanently
✅Government projects will stop disappearing mid-air like magic tricks
✅Public offices will start working so fast that queue numbers will feel useless
✅Nigeria will become so efficient that even complaints will need appointment scheduling
CONGRATULATIONS IN ADVANCE TO ALL NIGERIANS HOME AND ABROAD
It is intriguing how our existence is often evaluated through comparisons with others, and even more fascinating is the satisfaction we derive from discovering that we fare better than them.
This part of #bloodsisters2 courtroom scene was just off. The defense couldn’t call a key witness, but the judge just rushed to judgment. In reality, cases of this magnitude are not rushed to conclusion in a single sitting. Please we can do better in our research for our movies.
@osazenoo@SSegsomo Talking about poor people, do you know that the FG through the social investment programme has donated up to 330b naira to over 8 million households.
