As a staunch Conservative, I don't want to go down the path here. In their hearts, I believe the vast majority of liberals are good people who earnestly only want to make the world a better place for everyone. Like a million other examples, it's the fringe people on the far left that give the impression that "all liberals are bad". Then you toss in extremists like AOC and the squad who open advocate against the USA, and the scales go completely off the pivot..

Been WFH this week, way less news than usual. Still, every screen I glance at is the same us-vs-them fight. Feels like we've all been cast as Spy vs Spy from Mad Magazine. Is the country really this divided, or are we just playing the parts?

I don't hate people over politics, and I don't fall neatly on one side either. Not pro-abortion personally, but that's not the government's call to make for a woman. Less outrage, more common sense. Turn off the noise once in a while.

So I’m sitting in the doctor’s office the other day, minding my business, when I hear one of the nurses say to the other, “60-year-old, male,” while looking over my chart.

Instantly, my head snaps up and I start looking around like, “Okay, who are they talking about? Surely not me.”

But yep… they absolutely meant me.

What’s funny is that in my head, I’m still 38, maybe 40 on days when my knees click, so hearing myself described in actual, factual decades felt surreal. It’s like the world is operating on reality, and I’m over here running on whatever age my imagination has chosen for the day.

And then, of course, the truth taps me on the shoulder: my own body currently has about five different “check engine lights” blinking at the same time. Stuff I really should get looked at. So maybe the nurse wasn’t that far off after all.

Still… hearing it out loud hits different.

2) Congress. Term limits, zero tolerance for lobbying, NO STOCK TRADING *** AT ALL ***. Complete soup to nuts audits on every single one of them. Sic DOGE on them and find all the hidden shell companies and associates.

The only two places where I seem agree with liberals:
1) Healthcare insurance is broken. Insurance billed $2,250, I paid $250—just charge the real price.
2) Congress no longer represents us. Too many of them start with good intentions, then get corrupted by the games, backdoor deals, and insider trading.

On those 2 points.

1) Healthcare IS NOT A RIGHT... Making doctors (who in my experience do a fantastic job most of the time), nurses, and everyone else work for a government who can decide whether or not you're worthy to live or die is not a good idea.

Latest weirdness. Had a PETG 3d print last night that effectively welded itself to the plate, even after a night of cooling. Would NOT come off no matter what I tried. Ended up ripping off the supports from the object, then freezing the plate and having to go at it with an Xacto blade... Fun...

I used to doubt claims of @NPR bias, but after listening nonstop in a rental car for the past couple of weeks, it felt like nearly every story leaned “Trump = bad.”
Makes me wonder if they��re really representing a broad range of views anymore—and whether public funding still makes sense.
