@YuuNasuho I think a big part is that it's been 10 years since season 1. Rewatching from episode 4 he gets along with Ram better than he does with Rem. I know I didn't care for her then, but every time she breaks character and smiles at Subaru it gets me.

@SizMetric When people say they want cell shading they probably just want more stylized rendering. Game model rips are designed to look correct with certain lighting models, but cell shading isn't always right for gooning.
