Zero-rated and tax-exempt may seem identical, but one allows businesses to recover production costs while the other doesn't. That difference can eventually find its way into the prices consumers pay. Here's the difference between the two.

Nelius Njuguna: Kituo Cha Sheria went to court, and part of the case was that they were stating that there were warnings that there would be an attack in Garissa County. Even the American Embassy and other embassies were issuing security alerts that there was an imminent threat in Garissa. The Principal of Garissa also wrote a letter to the County Commissioner asking for additional security because of this threat at the university. The day before the attack, the students received SMS messages telling them that there would be an attack, but because it was the 1st of April, they thought it was a prank.

Ruth Amboko: I blame ODM for what happened to the Gen Zs because if it had held its political bargaining power of keeping the government in check, we would not have young people going to the streets, a majority of those ODM MPs would not have passed that particular Finance Bill because it overwhelmed us as a people because all of them voted for it after having joined government.

What is your opinion on CBK’s warning against using banknotes to create cash flower bouquets and decorative money displays during celebrations?

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula: I wish to draw your attention to the officer standing to the right of the chamber in green. He is the Chief Sergeant at Arms of the National Assembly, Mr. Aloisio Likulo OGW. Today is his last day on duty, having served diligently in public service. We thank him for the service he has rendered to the nation and wish him well.

Martha Karua: If you listen to Dr. William Ruto, you would think that he and the late Raila Odinga shared a lot in common but absolutely not, because he stands for something totally different. Even the choreographed group from within ODM, who were only singing praises of the union with the State, seemed to forget that they were at a funeral. Was it a ceremony to endorse the union between ODM and Dr. Ruto or was it the burial of the Right Hon. Raila Odinga? They were trying to make political capital out of it and that is why there was no room for divergent opinions. They could have allowed one or two members from the opposition side to speak. It would also have made sense to give me time to speak as his running mate.
Opiyo Wandayi: Siaya County is ready to receive guests who will be coming to mourn with us and is proud to give Baba a befitting burial as our foremost leader not only in this region but also the whole country. I want to thank, in a very big way, the president, William Ruto for making a proclamation to accord Baba Raila Odinga a state funeral with full military honours. That is something we cannot take for granted because he has simply used his discretion as the commander-in-chief.
James Orengo: It is indeed a tragedy for us, for me I never believed that such a day would come when we do not have Jakom around. Kenya has lost one of its most consequential sons and patriots. In fact, Raila Amolo Odinga is the greatest Kenyan that ever lived.
Kithure Kindiki: One of our objectives was to get the world to know that we consider the late PM not just as a leader for Kenya but also a leader globally.
Kithure Kindiki: You can see for yourself who the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga was not just for Kenya but to the world. As the national committee on the state funeral of the late PM Raila odinga, we are very grateful to those who condoled with Kenya and we don't take it for granted that our leader has so been respected.
Oburu Oginga: I want to appeal and plead with my people to be peaceful. I know the pains you feel as much as all of us do, but this is not a time to make anything which could cause harm and infirmity to our people. We want to behave with dignity, we want our people to respect this occasion because Raila loved them so much and they should also treat his send off with a lot of restraint. Let us not overdo our mourning. Let us mourn in peace. Let us escort our brother in peace and let his soul rest in peace.
Oburu Oginga: I would like to clarify something that has been in the press. This matter of where the grave of Raila, the particular spot. The press is saying that in Raila's will, he said he wanted to be buried next to his mother and that we have verified it and now we are burying him next to his father. Nothing could be far from the truth. I have seen the will and it clearly states that he would like to be buried in the place where his mother and father are buried.
