After a series of rich discussions and engagements on strengthening service delivery for Ugandans in the diaspora, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs and Head of the State House Diaspora Unit, Mr Mohammed Bagonza, this afternoon moderated a high-level panel discussion titled “Success Stories from the Diaspora Abroad” at the 2nd Uganda Diaspora Convention.

In his opening remarks, Mr Bagonza thanked members of the Ugandan diaspora for taking time to attend the Convention, noting that their presence was a powerful demonstration of commitment to Uganda’s development journey.

He reaffirmed that the diaspora remains one of Uganda’s most strategic national assets.

“Through remittances, investments, skills transfer, and global networks, you continue to play a critical role in strengthening our economy and shaping Uganda’s image internationally,” he said.

Mr Bagonza emphasised that the Government fully recognises this contribution and remains committed to creating an environment where diaspora engagement is encouraged, protected, and valued.

Highlighting the importance of the session, he noted that the panel on "Success Stories from the Diaspora Abroad" provided a platform to share real experiences, lessons learned, and journeys of resilience, innovation, and impact.

He said these stories are not only inspiring but also offer practical guidance and confidence to others seeking to follow similar paths.

As the country approaches the electoral period, Mr Bagonza made a humble appeal for peace, responsibility, and unity among Ugandans at home and abroad.

“Uganda’s stability has been built over many years, and it is our collective duty to safeguard it,” he said, urging diaspora members to remain united in their host countries and continue serving as proud ambassadors of Uganda.

He asked the members of the diaspora to remain in the country and vote come January 15, 2026. And urged them to vote wisely.

On the sidelines of the official launch of the Federation of Ugandans in Germany (FUG e.V.) during the inaugural Uganda Cultural and Tourism Festival in Munich, the Head of the State House Diaspora Unit, Mohammed Bagonza, presented Dr Wolfgang Wiedmann, Honorary Consul of Uganda for Bayern and Baden-Württemberg, with a copy of Uganda Gifted by Nature.

The presentation was a gesture of appreciation for Dr Wiedmann's continued support in strengthening Uganda–Germany relations and promoting Uganda as a destination for tourism, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

The gift also reflected the festival's central theme, showcasing Uganda's extraordinary natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and investment potential to audiences in Germany and across Europe.

The presentation followed the official launch of the Federation of Ugandans in Germany, a milestone that further strengthens diaspora organisation and collaboration in advancing Uganda's development agenda while fostering closer ties between the Government of Uganda and Ugandans living abroad. #UgandaDiaspora
