#Eritrea participated in the 8th Eastern Africa Regional Technical Advisory Committee Conference, organized by the Africa CDC Eastern Africa Regional Coordinating Centre and convened in Nairobi, Kenya, from 3 to 5 June.
Addressing the conference, Mr. Beyene Russom, Eritrea’s Ambassador to Kenya, noted the experience and progress Eritrea has registered in primary health care and gave a detailed briefing on the progress made in enabling citizens in remote areas of the country to become beneficiaries of health care services; ensuring maternal and child health; providing prenatal and postnatal treatment; constructing maternity waiting rooms to enable pregnant women to deliver at health facilities; and organizing training programs related to maternity care.
Ambassador Beyene indicated that the Government of Eritrea has played a significant role in ensuring child health and expanding vaccination coverage through national vaccination programs and coordinated intervention. He also said that since public health is interlinked with education, water, agriculture, food, and housing, the Government of Eritrea is conducting integrated efforts in these sectors.
The conference, in which representatives of member countries, regional institutions, health professionals, and development partners took part, conducted discussions on strengthening health security, disease control, and epidemic preparedness, as well as improving maternal and child health, expanding vaccination programs, and promoting primary health care.
Eritrea also expressed its support and readiness for the shared commitment to advancing regional health priorities through partnership and collective action.

One of the most sinister and far-reaching acts of political treachery in modern Horn of #Africa history—a calculated conspiracy against the people of #Eritrea and #Tigray orchestrated by these three architects of an axis of evil—was ultimately foiled by the farsightedness, resilience, and leadership of Eritrea and Tigray in recent years.
Ximdo (ጽምዶ) is potent political inoculation of the people of the Horn of #Africa against any evil plan that aims to engage the people in a perpetual war. #Sudan #Ethiopia #Somalia #Djibouti #Egypt
