We just published a new Nextflow pipeline that assembles HiFi/HiC genomes. Useful for projects making a large number of genomes.
We made a neat spittle bug genome as well.
Check it out (early access): https://t.co/sboMNreWrE
Saw this today. Since a lot of us work in EcoEvo space: https://t.co/0rfb1LGlSZ is now publishing micropublications in Ecology and Evolution. MicroPub EcoEvo Micropubs are 2 page, one figure reports, and really great for a variety of reasons. #MicroPub#EcoEvo
Did you know?
ORCID + GitHub are now integrated, which means GitHub users can link their validated ORCID iD to their public GitHub profile.

FHR article is now out! Finally, we can put our Voucher Specimen locations directly into our FASTA reference assemblies! https://t.co/OmczbRTSnK This may seem inane but, metadata and provenance living closer to reference assemblies is a big deal.
Dr. Amy Hudson, another scientist in ABADRU, is hiring a technician. Amy runs a really cool lab looking environmental modeling and modeling disease spread. Take a look! https://t.co/S1v3UrN4KF Closes Feb 29th. #DiseaseModeling#VectorDiseases

@bioinformer I'd argue that RNAseq is not a true quantitative method, due to samples being unable to be compared in absolute terms. Technically, the measurement is relative expression, and so RNAseq + Normalization would be the quantitative method. RNAseq would just be a technology.
@JLDudycha Disease resistant Elm or Ash. Let's start trying to rebuild tree populations!
Alternatively, Chestnut or Pecan (if you're south enough) for something edible
@bioinformer There is also a slight cost in data formatting, metadata collection, and archival. It's unlikely that beyond initial publishing costs the researcher will pay for data storage (this is a real problem long term sustainability problem, to which there is no easy solutions)
