@Public_Citizen@sarahcaroleo The definition used for poverty is "half the median household income." This chart shows Mexico at 20% and nearly equal to the US at 21%. Mexico's Median household income is $10,116. Half of the US median income is $29,519.50. all of Mexico lives in poverty according to this chart
@djcriswell265@TimKennedyMMA@ACLU@AnaKasparian What the ACLU is saying about Pres. Trump allowing religious organizations to discriminate was actually an executive order from President Lyndon Johnson. The DOL is proposing a clarification to a law already in place.
@TimKennedyMMA@ACLU@AnaKasparian Extremely misleading. This is not a Pres. Trump order. Proposed rule of clarification by the Dept. of Labor. "The Civil Rights Act of 1964 includes a critical, protective exemption for religious organizations." https://t.co/307xgtXsID

@iceteawitch @AllisonHenness6 @calebmealer @kidkleo@KyleEdwards@ScorealldayCW25 Legal immigration is one if the backbones of the U.S. and is what makes this country so amazing.I think we are on the same page there. No one is saying an illegal immigrant is an illegal human. The person immigrated illegally to the U.S.
@iceteawitch @AllisonHenness6 @calebmealer @kidkleo@KyleEdwards@ScorealldayCW25 2019 has seen more illegal crossings this year than all of 2018. https://t.co/BSuVmLZOWZ; the vast majority of asylum claims are not legitimate claims (10-28%). https://t.co/yaqQdvBgp1; politifact: 42% overstayed Visas in 2014. Probably a smaller % in 2019 https://t.co/HbwySKlNpr
@Thinkthinkabou1@benshapiro If people who are employed can't afford those either than it's not tied to employment. Also, wouldn't this make everything we purchase, tied to employment? I'm not arguing semantics, I'm saying factually that employment and healthcare are not tied. Affordability, yes.
@Thinkthinkabou1@benshapiro Everyone can buy individual health insurance regardless of wage, employment type or status, if you're employer offers it, etc. But if you are unemployed and still have the option to buy health insurance/receive healthcare then how is healthcare tied to employment?
@Thinkthinkabou1@benshapiro Healthcare isn't tied to employment. There are individual health insurance plans for those who are unemployed, don't receive the benefit from their employer, or who can find better fitting plans than the ones they are offered.
@Savannah3131@BrandonGoeckner@Lhardiek Not to get in the middle of this but the headline is misleading. Report says he was blocking a Taco Bell drive thru lane with a gun in his lap and the car on. He woke up when the police approached his car, wouldn't listen to instruction and reached down towards the gun. Very sad!
@Savannah3131@Lhardiek@BrandonGoeckner I agree with a lot of what you said there, especialy how people would rather prove the other political party wrong than solutions. You mentioned Republicans opening their minds and I know of some who would compromise in rape/incest situations. Wanted to hear some thoughts on that
@Lhardiek@BrandonGoeckner@Savannah3131 What about consenting adults who doesn't want the baby? I'm genuinely curious about this question because I know a lot of anti-abortion people who would be willing to compromise on rape and incest abortions since they typically account for less than 2%.
@JeffreyGuterman@realDonaldTrump There's some irony to that 0.003% number. The U.S. GDP was a little more than $19T in 2018, making $5.7B about 0.003% of our GDP.
