In a letter this week addressed to the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote that the Department of Justice rejects any assertion of jurisdiction by the ICC over Americans.
The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute and has never consented to the ICC’s authority. As a matter of international law, a treaty cannot bind a non-consenting country. Accordingly, the ICC has no jurisdiction over Americans — anywhere in the world — and any attempt to assert such authority is illegitimate, unlawful, and a direct affront to the sovereignty of the United States.

Our End EPA Abuse Act will ensure that future administrations cannot unleash the EPA upon Americans and their businesses like Obama and Biden did.
Unelected bureaucrats with climate psychosis should never again usurp the authority of Congress.
🔥 “The End EPA Abuse Act is not a panacea to the administrative state, but it’s a start.
Reining in the EPA is one step toward restoring a simple principle that Washington has too often forgotten: The people, not the bureaucrats, rule.”

In April, I introduced my constitutional amendment on birthright citizenship. Some colleagues thought it was premature. Now, they understand why it wasn't.
The 14th Amendment must be clarified to reflect what its authors actually intended. The citizenship clause was written for freed slaves after the Civil War, not to incentivize illegal immigration or birth tourism.

Strong directive from @TheJusticeDept.
The silver lining of yesterday’s SCOTUS decision: it is mandatory for every future GOP administration to follow President Trump’s example & aggressively prevent the exploitation of birthright citizenship by tourism or illegal immigration.
What the Court declined to stop, the Executive and Legislative branches can stop by other means.
The disgraceful gaming of American citizenship by foreign nationals will end, one way or another.
Birth tourism schemes exploit our immigration laws and often violate our criminal laws. The Department of Justice will prioritize the prosecutions of birth tourism schemes across the country. Actors seeking to exploit loopholes to obtain automatic citizenship for their children pose a national security threat and will be brought to justice.
Neither the Founding Fathers, nor the authors of the 14th Amendment, nor the millions of Americans who fought and died for their country through the ages intended to establish a nation whose citizenship could so easily be purchased, whether through birth tourism of China’s communist party members or a vast border invasion enabled by faithless presidents.
This is the cheap and cheated citizenship the Supreme Court upholds today.
The long fight for a constitutional amendment begins now.
We must explicitly exclude foreign nationals who break our laws, violate our borders, or exploit loopholes to make their families American citizens.
Good.
Most Americans consider schools keeping boys out of girls’ sports to be a no-brainer, but it is important to recognize how close we have skated in the last decade to having two more justices willing to impose the opposite upon the nation.
🚨 The Supreme Court upheld West Virginia and Idaho laws limiting girls' and women's school sports teams to biological females, holding that Title IX permits sex-separated teams based on biological sex and that the laws do not violate the Equal Protection Clause.

.@BasedMikeLee: “America is the greatest country on earth — not by accident, not by fate, but by design. It started with a group of patriots, outnumbered and outgunned, who believed that men are endowed with inalienable rights, which no government has the authority to deny.”
Congress exercised its constitutional authority to designate one federal Election Day—not election week, not election month.
This unfortunate decision further undermines trust in American elections and underscores the urgency of legislative action to secure them.
🚨 In a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court ruled that federal law does not require mail-in ballots to be received by Election Day, holding that states may count ballots postmarked by Election Day but received afterward if state law allows it.
A good decision.
The President is the Chief Executive. If Executive Branch employees do not answer to him, they do not answer to the American people.
Humphrey’s Executor was wrongly decided in 1935. Today, SCOTUS restores an important constitutional separation of powers.
🚨 In a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court ruled that the President may fire FTC commissioners at will, overruling Humphrey's Executor and holding that the FTC's for-cause removal protections violate the Constitution's separation of powers.
T stands for temporary.
Temporary Protected Status.
More broadly, our immigration, asylum, visa, residency, and related policies cannot hinge upon whether America is a better place to live than other countries—because America will always be a better place to live than other countries.
People are right to want to come here.
And Americans have a right to say “no.”
In a cruel and inhumane decision, the Supreme Court just turned its back on more than 300,000 Haitians and thousands of Syrians who have worked and raised families here because they faced violence and instability back home.
TPS exists for exactly this reason: to protect people when returning home is unsafe. Haiti and Syria remain unsafe today. Instead of showing basic humanity, Donald Trump and this Court have chosen fear, chaos, and cruelty.
I have introduced legislation to extend TPS for Haitians, and will keep fighting to protect Haitian and Syrian families from being forced back into danger. America should not turn its back on people who came here seeking safety.
