When our Founders affixed their signatures to the Declaration of Independence in 1776, it was far from certain that the fledging country would endure. They would be amazed to see us now. For 250 years, Americans have set aside July 4th to celebrate the freedoms for which those men pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. As we mark this year’s historic anniversary, we have so much to appreciate. We all bear a solemn responsibility to follow in our Founder’s footsteps, extending this legacy of freedom to the coming generations. Happy Independence Day!

We are at a moment that will define President Trump’s legacy.

His instincts have been to finish the job he started in Iran, but he is being ill advised to pursue a deal that would not be worth the paper it is written on. Our commander-in-chief needs to allow America's skilled armed forces to finish the destruction of Iran's conventional military capabilities and reopen the strait.

Further pursuit of an agreement with Iran's Islamist regime risks a perception of weakness. We must finish what we started. It is past time for action.
