There were numerous professionals openly claiming that parents were falsely saying their child had sen for financial gain, and that other professionals encouraged it.

@rich_w It's often trotted out in discussions regarding children's services, locally at least.

The argument presented in response to evidence of systemic law breaking is that to follow the law would bankrupt them, and is the main driver of recent attempts to reform SEND law by councils.

@draevans The figures used for children in my area are closer to 9%.

They estimate that 10% of all children in the borough have some sort of SEND, and that 90% of those have some sort of autism, emotional or behaviour difficulties.

If someone genuinely believes that a Doctor has made an error, why would that person saying that they believe a referral to the GMC is justified be seen as making threats?

@JBluedobson2022 @LizTwistMP Unfortunately this is typical of the experience many people. Liz seems very keen to get involved with things that personally interest her, but completely ignores everything else. She's especially bad at ignoring people trying to get help for their disabled children.

@JLasota01 To me the decision makes a fundamental error.

Under the Education Act post 16 transport is discretionary, but under the Equality Act equity of access to education is not. I would wonder if Equality Act claims by those effected could cost more that the council is saving

Would this mean that unless a new similar enactment is made any future placement decision with a private provider and joint funding will itself be a breach because it removes rights under HRA?

Should they be paused?

One of the things I got from the Grenfell Inquiry Report was that introducing accountability made things better, so given that it's a proven technique is it unreasonable for people to ask for it?

In a local independent special school the governors have decided to implement a policy whereby all unauthorised absences will be reported to LAs for fines to be issued.

If we can't get support from specialists then what hope is there.
