Seneca High School is a positive, caring community where champions and scholars are committed to becoming an exemplary model for success in a global society.
With the help of the class of 2023, this video is officially @OhioValleyEmmy-nominated! Thank you to all the teachers who make such an impact on our students every day. Without you, this wouldn't have been possible.
Students in KY read my book!!! 🙌🏽
Today, I virtually met Dr. @michelleshory’s students at Seneca HS in Louisville, KY who just finished reading #IfUonlyKnewBook
I was so proud of a group of them who asked their questions. I LOVED answering their questions— they had some deep & personal questions 😅
Thank you, Dr. Michelle Makus Shory, Ed.D. for sharing our stories with your class and for encouraging them to also share their stories.
They LOVED meeting me and were fascinated that the author is a REAL person 😂
They also enjoyed hearing me speak Spanish!

🗣️ ON THEIR SOAPBOX | @Seneca_High students delivered passionate speeches today about topics important to them—depression, sexual assault, hate, racial disparities, and meeting the needs of immigrant students—as part of the @MikvaChallenge#ProjectSoapbox! #WeAreJCPS
@Seneca_FA took a very deserving field trip to see #Wonka in the theater. Particular happy moment for me was when some of our ML kids ordered their concessions in English by themselves. They were so proud! Small teacher moments!
So proud of our students and their BSU sponsor, Garnette Johnson, for participating in this year’s #JusticeFest our students collaborated with @IROQUOIS_HS and @JCTMS_JCPS to help raise thousands of $$ for food pantries in our community. @JCPSDEP1#jcpsml
Such high levels of engagement with our Supporting Refugee Trauma Needs workshop. Grateful for the expertise of @LaraDonnelly and our community leaders who served on the expert panel. #JCPSML
Attending @JCPSSuper’s State of the District today and this slide caught my attention. When I moved to Louisville to cover @JCPSKY for @courierjournal in 2007, 4.7 % of the student population were multilingual learners. In 2024, that number is now 17.1% #kyed
Right now in Kentucky, about half of our children are showing up for kindergarten unprepared. That’s a failing grade.
Universal pre-K would change all that.
3 of our Business students joined local pros to network, open mic, hear a pitch & panel at the Feb @VCLou lunch. They arrived a bit nervous & left feeling like it could be them in this room pitching & paneling some day 🤩Thanks, @AmplifyLou #SenecaSoars#YouCantBeItIfYouDontSeeIt
