Just like OGFZA, the Liverpool Free Port is one of 8 Free Ports that are designated a Free Trade Zone in the UK, and as such, makes it a perfect international Free Zone Partner for OGFZA especially when it comes to trade relations between Nigeria and the UK.

Yesterday, I received the Chairman of Liverpool Free Port, UK Mr Thomas O’Brien at OGFZA office in Abuja, where we had interactions on areas of collaboration and cooperation.
Over the week, I paid a courtesy visit to the MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Sammy Ogbuku in Portharcourt, to explore areas of co-operation between OGFZA and NDDC.

This role the Dpt has played so effectively in line with International Best practices, and today, I make bold to say, that the Oil and Gas Free Zones remains one of the most environment-friendly Free Zones in the continent, with Zero Pollution or Hazard in over two decades now.

I received the President of the Nigerian Footbal Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau who paid me a courtesy visit yesterday, following his election as the new NFF President.
Our plan to set up a Free Zone in either of the states, will provide the needed platform to catalyze investment and development of the oil and gas sector in the region, create jobs and grow our economy.

As part of our plans to set up an Oil and Gas Free Zone in the Northeastern part of the country, I visited Governors Bala Mohammed and Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Bauchi and Gombe states respectively, to share our ideas with them and solicit their support in setting up the Free Zone
Bauchi and Gombe are part of the states that form the Gongola River Basin, which contains huge oil and gas deposit and was successfully recently drilled by the NNPC for oil Production.
As always, I expressed our willingness to welcome the investors and strengthen our partnership with the Bulgarian government. Meanwhile we will continue our official communications with the embassy ahead of our visit to Bulgaria.

Sequel to his visit to my office few months ago, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Yanko Yorbanov invited me to the Embassy Yesterday in continuation of our discussions on attracting Bulgarian investors to invest in our free Zones.
