Currently working on Doodle Duels: After Math, an Arena Survival TCG-Style Deck Construction game.
I tweet about game development, games, and pixel art!
Life update! I took a break from developing Doodle Duels for a few months because I moved internationally. I should be getting back to it again soon-ish!
@Schmeeb_ It was super pet based for an MMO. Apparently there is still an English community for the game, it's just on a Taiwan server. I joined the discord and I will probably play it again.
@Schmeeb_ The MMO I always think of I don't remember the name of and I can never find anything about it.
It was a top down view with an interesting art style. A lot of focus on pets. You picked your race and each had their own starting area... I remember loving it.
@Schmeeb_ Unfortunately it seems multiplayer is distance locked by 200m. If you are still playing when either of us visit each other we can hunt together.
Okay decided I will be adding a mini game. It solves the problem that creative mode players would have no reason to earn points and buy cards.
I will keep it a surprise as to what I decided on making though.
If I am motivated maybe a whole idle game where you can feed excess cards or spend points for power...
But probably something more simple like some slots, or some hard but simple timed platformer collectimg points.
Not sure if it would be worth the effort.
In the collection mode of my game, there will be money earned on runs to buy card packs.
I was thinking though... what if I added a mini game to my game 🤔
Would be nice to have an alternative way to use or earn points... or maybe even use excess cards. (1/2)
It is sad to see the game industry in its current state. If my college experience went well... My life would likely be impacted by now. I hope it get better for those who have recently lost their job. 🥲
@Kira_Colada@indiedevs I have a TCG-styled deck contruction for an arena survival game. I do have some prebuilt decks in the game as well. Gameplay is kinda similar to Brotato.

@IndieGameiacs Far down the horizon, but at least a demo is available 😅
Also currently working on my Draft mode that will be more roguelike deckbuilder!

@Schmeeb_ This reminded me of a time I was showing off yoshi's Island on GBA to a friend. It dissapeared. A day or two later a friend of my friends little brother was showing off Yoshi's island... Same progress as I had just copied the save file to the other 2 saves. 🫠
With whats going on with Palworld. At this point it does not really matter if they used AI or not. Its proved that there is enough consumers that do not care about it.
Unless rules with AI assets changes, more companies may be tempted to use some unfortunately.
