Easiest way to get into the flow of modeling reusable assets for your game is just trying to make a whole environment and sitting there confused on how to fill the empty space
Here's a cargo delivery port and landing platform for my space game #Roblox#RobloxDev#Blender
Concepting a ship design for police vehicles for the space game. Added lots of utilities like lights, racks, and a roomy interior. Still debating if it'll be all black or more of a cartoonish blue whenever I bring it into Substance Painter #Roblox#RobloxDev
It’s gone up by 10 🙃
Despite being up 10,000 visits
and btw, “Highly engaged players” are based on their platform stats, so your game stats have no impact
Nice call out. We're testing algorithm improvements to ensure games that retain players long-term can be discovered by the largest possible audience. More soon.

doing a little modeling for my space flight game in between running claude lol
The context switching is starting to fry my brain though...
As a solo dev, it's hard to find the motivation to deeply think through every design idea even though you really want to
With this power generator, I just ran with the first thing that came to mind. In between all the engineering thinking, I like this being more of my brain break

Game design for me right now is just layering fun little behaviors and seeing what balances challenge and reward.
Starting simple with this space prototype: randomly scattered asteroids, debris clouds, turrets, and portals. All procedural, meant to push you to think a bit while flying.
Mixing that with bouncy exaggerated flight mechanics and a slightly goofy camera.
Aiming for an arcade style where you jump in, have fun, get a little better over time without taking it too seriously.
Also concepting a better ship model. Solo dev is such a juggling act😅

Just fired up the space game prototype that's been sitting in my head for a while.
Here's an early prototype clip. The initial aim was to nail that captivating, untethered feel of space that inspires wonder and potential.
That immersion is what makes space feel special to me, so I had to hit it first so that early gameplay felt personally meaningful and motivating.
Beyond looks, I am excited to tackle the game design, especially for Roblox's audience. Early focus is on a snappy feel, intuitive objective, satisfying mechanics, and opt-in complexity.
No idea if it'll land yet, which makes me a bit uncomfortable. But I guess sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger and prototype fast. 🤷♂️
Got a lot more updates coming!

@Elttob_ For me, I saw the accumulation of these experiences as a pattern, and because of that, it was so easy for me to despise and shy away from math for so long until I found that one explanation that changed my perspective.
@Elttob_ I agree with this so much! Speaking from my experience, I think another barrier that makes math seem inaccessible is just that many of us are exposed to math with, many times, poor explanations at a very young age.
@TheNexusAvenger I was originally guessing it had something to do with matrices but since that guess has already been thrown out, does it have anything to do with reflections? 👀
@CheekyVisuals IMO overcoming a challenging task or even making significant progress is a much more sustainable solution to this sort of self-doubt since you shift your mindset from "Do I know X, Y, Z?" to "Can I learn X, Y, Z, no matter what it takes?"
@CheekyVisuals It's hard to measure what works now and what will continue to work in the future. Asking your self "are you good" probably won't be purposeful if you are currently able to accomplish the current tasks you've attempted.
