Of course they'd be exclusively focused on "the right" as a threat to "democracy". Left-wing professors (which means pretty much all academics) frame "the struggle" as pitting "the right" against "democracy". The left is good. The right is bad. They view the entirety of the left, from establishment American Democrats to Antifa, as "democratic" with communism being the purest form of democracy. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were fighting for "democracy" against "the right". Castro, Che, the Shining Path, and the Sandinistas were fighting for "democracy" against "the right". The Spanish and Russian communists were fighting for "democracy" against Franco and "the right". That's their paradigm and there's no shaking them loose from it.
