The woman’s bait - Finale // Marital Drama
Weeks ago, a young man at university reached out with a request for mentorship. “I downloaded all The Woman’s Bait stories,” he told me when we met, “and compiled them into a folder on my computer.” He reminded me of Jesus’s parable about a man who discovered a treasure hidden in a field, covered it up, and then went and sold everything he had and bought the field.
The things we see are the parables for the things we cannot see. A blind man is a parable of mental blindness. While you can see physical blindness, you can’t see mental blindness. However, through the blind, you can see it.
Isaac Newton wasn’t the first man to sit under an apple tree and see apples falling to the ground. And yet, he was the first to see the force called gravity that pulls apples to the ground. Archimedes wasn’t the first to sit in a bathtub, yet he was the first to see the displacement theory. Precious gems are hidden in plain sight; only the seers can see them.
Every day is new, and yet, there is nothing new. It’s that simple idea that inspires some of us to read books. For instance, I read biographies of successful people to see through their stories how they navigated this maze of life. Knowledge, like light, shines in the darkness and reveals what is hidden.
That’s the insight behind the work my wife and I do through the podcast and this series. We didn’t want to tell people what to do, but we believed by sharing an authentic story of our experiences, the wise could see through us. Unfortunately, many couldn’t see past our marriage and failed to see through us. However, some did and have been blessed.
Such is life. The difference between the doers and those that don’t is a matter of sight. One man sees a plant, and another sees medicine. One man sees sand, and another sees semiconductors. One man sees water, another sees electricity. I challenge you to see past things and see through them. Don’t read The Woman’s Bait and judge Felix; that is an unproductive endeavor, given you lack the authority to change him. However, through Felix, you can see human behavior, and you’ll be the wiser for it.
It’s the end of the first season, and serving you for the last sixty days has been a privilege. I’m talking to you, the seer, the one who sees through.
God bless you.

I'm one step closer to being a better man. A small step, but I focus on the small and manageable these days, not the big and out of reach, remember? I focus on what I can control, and what I have to live for.
Because there's always something to live for.
