Onwaarschijnlijk hoe media zich zo dikwijls en zo flagrant compleet achter de kar van minister-mumbo jumbo spin laten spannen. Vlaamse subsidies STIJGEN nog maar eens met 1 miljard euro. Stijgen!

Titel HLN: "Ben Weyts neemt extra maatregelen tegen subsidies". Onwaarschijnlijk.

De minister heeft daar géén enkel akkoord over binnen de regering. Straffer nog: zijn plan daarover is op de regering al een paar keer verworpen. Vooruit en CD&V zeggen nee. En ook andere N-VA ministers hebben er geen goesting in.

De minister heeft NIETS, enkel communicatie. HLN volgt die blindelings.

Meer nog: die "crackdown op subsidies" is de laatste jaren al minstens drie keer gecommuniceerd door Weyts en zijn voorganger Diependaele. Toevallig telkens bij weer een nieuwe stijging van de subsidieberg.

Geen wonder dat mensen amper vertrouwen hebben in klassieke media.

De omegablokkade — dat is de werkelijke meteorologische verklaring achter de extreme temperaturen die momenteel over een groot deel van het Europese continent worden gemeten. Terwijl grootmedia als de NOS de hitte vrijwel reflexmatig koppelen aan klimaatverandering en broeikasgassen, wijzen kritische wetenschappers op een veel nuchterder en beter onderbouwde verklaring: een hardnekkig weerpatroon in de hogere atmosfeer dat Europa al vaker in zijn greep heeft gehouden.

Wat is een omegablokkade precies?

Een omegablokkade is een specifiek patroon in de straalstroom — de krachtige windstroom op grote hoogte die het weer in onze breedtegraden grotendeels stuurt. De naam komt van de gelijkenis met de Griekse hoofdletter omega (Ω): een grote hogedrukrug in het midden, geflankeerd door twee lagedrukgebieden aan weerszijden. Dit patroon zorgt ervoor dat luchtmassa’s nauwelijks kunnen doorstromen en het weerpatroon wekenlang kan vaststaan.

In het geval van de huidige hittegolf wordt hete Saharalucht door het anticyclonale (met de klok mee draaiende) luchtstroompatroon noordwaarts getransporteerd richting West-Europa. Terwijl die luchtmassa stijgt en daalt onder de hogedrukrug, wordt ze adiabatisch samengedrukt — een puur fysisch proces dat de temperatuur verder doet oplopen. Geen CO2 aan te pas.

Meteoroloog Chris Martz trekt aan de bel.

De Amerikaanse meteoroloog Chris Martz deelde zijn analyse van het huidige weerpatroon uitgebreid via sociale media. Zijn conclusie is helder: deze omegablokkade heeft niets te maken met klimaatverandering of uitstoot van broeikasgassen. Het is een bekende, goed gedocumenteerde weerdynamiek die altijd al heeft plaatsgevonden en ook in een hypothetisch pre-industrieel klimaat tot recordhitte zou hebben geleid.

Martz wijst bovendien op een opvallende wetenschappelijke paradox. Er bestaan namelijk diverse studies die suggereren dat opwarming van de Arctis juist zou leiden tot minder frequente blokkerende weerpatronen zoals de omegablokkade, omdat het temperatuurverschil tussen de evenaar en de poolgebieden kleiner wordt. Dat staat haaks op de bewering dat klimaatverandering dit soort hittegolven veroorzaakt of versterkt. Martz erkent dat er debat bestaat over dit onderwerp, maar de eenvoudige klimaatboodschap die media uitdragen, is sowieso te kort door de bocht.

Europa vaker getroffen, maar waarom eigenlijk?

Dan is er nog een toename van zonnestraling die het aardoppervlak bereikt, doordat er minder bewolking is van lage en middelmatige wolkenlagen. Die afname van bewolking hangt deels samen met de strenge Europese luchtvervuilingsregels, die hebben geleid tot minder atmosferische aerosolen. Minder deeltjes in de lucht betekent minder wolkenvorming, meer direct zonlicht en dus hogere oppervlaktetemperaturen.

Met andere woorden: de eigen Europese milieuregulering draagt bij aan de toegenomen hitte. Dat is een ongemakkelijke conclusie die je in de reguliere media zelden zult tegenkomen.

Media kiezen sensatie boven wetenschappelijke nuance

Denktank Clintel, vertegenwoordigd door wetenschapsjournalist Marcel Crok, onderschrijft de analyse van Martz. De conclusie is simpel: wie de oorzaak van de Europese hitte wil begrijpen, kan beter een meteoroloog raadplegen dan een krantenredactie die op zoek is naar een clickbait-verhaal.

Het is inmiddels een vast patroon: zodra het ergens warm is, wordt de link met klimaatverandering gelegd, vrijwel zonder nuance, zelden met meteorologische onderbouwing en al helemaal niet met verwijzing naar mogelijke alternatieve verklaringen. Dat is geen journalistiek �� dat is activisme vermomd als wetenschap.

The problem with the welfare state and its confiscatory taxation system is that there are ZERO repercussions if politicians steal your money "legally" and squander it accordingly. Any system that decouples the natural link between causes and effects will lead to disaster. This is why what starts off as a small temporary levying of taxes more than 100 years ago becomes the tax code that we see today. Politicians do not view an individual's hard-earned money as theirs to keep. Rather they view your money as something that they allow you to keep a small portion of. Accordingly, you should be "thankful" that the government allows you to keep any of your money. This "proves" that they are kind and empathetic. It is a complete moral inversion of personal agency, liberty, and freedom. No system should take so much taxes from you that it forces you to work 10 extra years to make up for what was taken from you.

Marx died in 1883 with two volumes of Capital unwritten and one fatal contradiction unanswered. Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk noticed.

In 1884 he published the first volume of Capital and Interest, a history of every interest theory ever floated, and he treated the exploitation theory the way a pathologist treats a corpse: methodically, and without sentiment. Marx claimed that labor alone creates value, that the capitalist pockets "surplus value" by paying workers less than their product is worth. Sounds tidy. Then Böhm-Bawerk asked the question that collapses the whole structure. Why does a worker accept $90 today instead of waiting a year for the $100 his labor will eventually fetch in the finished good?

Present goods are worth more than future goods. That is interest. Not theft, not a parasite skimming off the top, but the price of time itself. The capitalist who advances wages today for output that sells next year performs a service, and he earns the spread for bearing the wait and the risk. Böhm-Bawerk laid this out in 1889 in The Positive Theory of Capital, and the exploitation story had no reply.

But the real execution came in 1896. Engels had finally dragged Volume III of Capital into print in 1894, and there Marx quietly admitted that commodities do not actually sell at their labor values: they sell at "prices of production" governed by an average rate of profit. Böhm-Bawerk pounced in Karl Marx and the Close of His System. Volume I said value comes from labor. Volume III said prices systematically deviate from labor. Marx had spent twenty years building a cathedral on a foundation he himself dynamited in the back pages. You cannot assert that labor determines value on Monday and that competition overrides it on Thursday and call the result science.

A century of central planners ignored this and proceeded to starve Ukraine, wall off Berlin, and empty the shelves of Caracas. The theory was dead in 1896, but the bodies just kept arriving anyway, because nobody reads the footnotes before they reach for the gun.

Onrustwekkende tendens: het wordt in onderzoek dat door de overheid gefianncierd wordt steeds moeilijker de waarheid te benoemen.

Het VRT-onderzoek Foto Van Vlaanderen, waarbij de openbare omroep massaal de kaart van "manosfeer" speelde en cultureel-religieuze oorzaken weigerde te benoemen, is daar natuurlijk een zeer pijnlijk voorbeeld van. Maar lang niet het enige.

Als je ook maar één kritische noot wil plaatsen bij het dominante alarmistische klimaatdebat, kan je naar onderzoeksgeld fluiten.

Wie subsidies over voedingsadvies wil krijgen, mag enkel nog zeggen dat "vlees eten zeer slecht is".

Voor eender wat rond "discriminatie loon mannen en vrouwen" krijg je subsidies bij de vleet, ook al bestaat die niet. Om nog maar te zwijgen over miljoenen factcheck subsidies, meestal rond "de verderfelijke invloed van sociale media, in het bijzonder de manosfeer".

Er is een hele beleidslaag in ons land die een soort van bizar eigen geloofsysteem in stand wil houden. Dat sijpelt helaas echt onderzoek binnen.

Het wordt tijd dat de primaat van de politiek daar tegenin gaat en ratio weer vooraan zet.

8. Pay attention to the exact moment you think "I do not know how to figure this out." Most people give up there. That is the moment you should open the AI.

9. The only real skill left in using AI is knowing what to ask. The models can do almost anything you can describe in plain English. The bottleneck lives in your own head.

10. You can send AI photos of almost anything medical now and get a real answer. Skin rashes. Blood test results. The new models read images not just text. A free 24/7 second opinion on anything.

11. The one type of therapy clinically proven to work is cognitive behavioral therapy. It is also something an AI can fully do on its own. Every person on earth is about to have access to a real therapist for free anytime they want.
