Early Sunday morning, we said goodbye to my grandfather, Dennis Hare.
I’ve been at a loss for words ever since, and honestly, I’m still not sure I’ve found them.
Pap was a man you respected the moment you met him. His words carried weight, and so did his silence. There was a quiet strength to his presence, calm and steady, always full of care. He didn’t need to say much to say everything.
He meant the world to me, and I have so much to thank him for. Many of you know how deeply I love music and motorsports. That’s his doing. He planted those seeds in me, and they’ve grown into a big part of who I am. Those are just a couple notable ones.
Beyond being an incredible son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband (of 66 years), beyond even his remarkable musical gifts, what defined Pap most was his love for Jesus. That wasn’t something he just believed. It was something he lived. You could see it in the way he moved, the way he spoke, the way he treated people every single day.
His love for family, I can’t even describe. Immeasurable.
There’s a litany of things… much more that deserves to be said, and I’m just not there yet. I’d honestly need a series of books.
Some people leave footprints. Pap left a highway. The music, the faith, the way he loved people…that’s the road he paved. And I don’t know what you do with a loss like this except keep following the highway he built, and try to be a little more like him every day.
I love you Papap.
Hey, HEY, HEYYYY our fellow guards! Syp and Jax just streamed the director's commentary to Guard Duty's first season, have a look if you want some insight into the process behind the scenes as well as a few teases into what's next for the show!
unironically i think halo machinima is a really good and accessible outlet if you want to start writing, directing, and editing in any genre. its limitations lead to creative solutions, inherently pushing you to widen your skillset. highly recommend.
SB is planning to stream Guard Duty's Season 1 WITH directors commentary. Not only will you'll be able to get the details of behind the scenes, but we will have never before seen special surprises throughout the stream!
