@haelieklinger Showing them that you are grateful is infinitely better than showing them you feel guilty for needing them. Once you get used to that, it becomes a lot more manageable. But yeah. I've absolutely been there and it sucks. It sucks so bad.

@haelieklinger Experience has taught me to accept that the people who stick around for you, don't see you as a burden. If they did they'd tell you directly or they'd cut you from their life. They stick around, so that means they care and they feel like you should trust them with this.

@DirtyEffinHippy I've managed to get a whole community of indie devs to unprompted self-check their work any for photo-sensitive issues and to give epilepsy warnings whenever they post graphics that they think "might" be a trigger issue. It is just such a great feeling each time I see it pop up.

Or is it entirely normal to be able to process all of that information at the same time when your vision isn't distracting you? genuinely curious here.

What I meant with precedence was, in case of audio information overload (I don't know if that is a thing that can happen for someone who isn't used to using sight as their main sense) which sound is more important to keep?

Being sighted I'd expect it to be:
object/cliff edge warning
combat impact/aiming
ship status
weather
things happening outside of the ship
loot lying around
ambience

@BrainAblaze Depending on how well said person treats their pets, it might be a sign that they are going to take your condition seriously. A lot of people have difficulty emphasizing with fellow humans, but get all in on the feelings when it comes to pets.

Flashing lights, camera distortion, scanlines, fish-eye lensing. That sort of stuff.

@pinkie22 You should cordially inform him that until he can tell the difference between a panic attack and a seizure (and understand the seriousness of both) he only has hissy fits and temper tantrums that can be solved by giving him his pacifier back.
