@jkbckr I've tried the mastodon thing a time or two and it's just so clunky and barren. If a bigger infosec andor tech space starts to materialize I might try again.
@MalwareTechBlog I love that this accomplishes nothing that a simple title document doesn't also. It's also not recognized by any local authority so if someone does in fact steal your wallet you're screwed.
@zero2prod This book is such a treat to read. It's all really digestible, even for someone like me with no professional experience whatsoever. I feel like I've learned and accomplished so much since starting with it, and I've applied some of what I learned to other personal side projects!!
@AdamTRRollins@YegYoot@Reasonings14@RightWingCope You better be damn sure they're there for abortion care before posting about it though. Making that insinuation publicly and being wrong would (in my not a lawyer brain) be grounds to sue for defamation. People can lose jobs or be put at risk over stuff like this.
@MalwareTechBlog ...I don't think having a responsible engineer of record on critical software to be that onerous of a requirement.
Caveat: this is all literally toilet posting and I have done absolutely no due diligence on my position π
@MalwareTechBlog Most firms in hardware engineering have a team of engineers producing documents that a PE then stamps and signs after a review. With that model I think it makes more sense. Modern software has the ability to save or end lives, and if software engineering *is* engineering...
@TheRealCLZ@Enichan The only neighbor I know the full name of is the sex offender that suddenly moved in next door. And that's because of, you know, the registry.
@iquilezles@ShinyQuagsire@tom_forsyth Speaking as a mechanical engineer, I would like to introduce you to finite element analysis.
Input loads + pretty colors = design.
Not how it SHOULD work but it's how many firms seem to operate.
@algo_luca@zero2prod I'm working through this book now. It's the first larger programming project I've tackled. I'm having a great time and learning a ton!
