Story Time π
I went to my first ever National in 2022 in Atlantic city. One of the first tables I walk up to has a Tiger PMG purple in a PSA 10. (I was fairly new to the hobby at the time, only been in it for maybe a year)
I was also just getting into golf that year so I was interested in starting a PC, however I didnβt know who / what I wanted to PC. I figured that since I was getting into golf and for the most part golfing cards were fairly cheap, iβd start a collection that revolved around golf.
Me being curious and with a little cash in my pocket, I of course ask the dealer, βhey, thatβs a sick tiger. what do you have on that?β He responds, β70.β I was kinda taken back and thinking did he say β7?β as in $700 or $7,000? So I wanted to clarify his ask, β$7,000???β and he said βoh no, $70,000 one just sold for $66,000.β
I was a 20 year old kid, I did not have $70,000 cash ready to buy this card, however; I never forgot about it. In the back of my mind I had told myself, βiβm gonna own that thing one day.β
Flash forward 2ish years, I made some solid business decisions and @RyansCardssLLC actually had TWO PMGβs for sale along with two jambalayaβs.
I then was in position to acquire a card that I didnβt know anything about a few years back.
I knew I had to jump on the opportunity to buy them from Ryan and since then, they have been my favorite cards iβve ever collected.
Kim Caldwell had the rare opportunity to coach alongside her dad. It was a relationship that molded @CoachKim_ as a young coach.
