O’s decided to leave Trevor Rogers in for the 7th. Issued a leadoff walk, erased it on a double play and retired the side on a second groundout. 7 shutty for the southpaw. Maybe a run will be scored at some point? #Orioles
If that’s it for Trevor Rogers on opening day, not too shabby! Didn’t have his A+ command but stranded runners whenever he needed to. 6 scoreless frames in his season debut #Orioles
@YankeeSource If I remember correctly, a lot of his issues last year were not knowing whether to go to the bag or after a grounder towards the second baseman. Those kind of judgement plays you can only figure out with game reps
The Red Sox have been one of the most platoon heavy lineups over the last couple years. Don't expect that to change. When a lefty is on the mound, Marcelo Mayer likely isn't going to play. I honestly expected Andruw Monasterio was going to get the nod over IKF
The Orioles have so much pitching depth they optioned workhorse Dean Kremer to AAA
The Rays and Blue Jays had to tap into their depth with late spring injuries; nice to have Joe Boyle, Eric Lauer and Max Scherzer to have in the wings
So much depth everywhere!
I can't ever remember the AL East having more pitching depth than it does to start this season
The Red Sox barely found room for both Early and Oviedo to make the opening day roster
The Yankees will have decisions to make on Weathers/Warren/Gil when Cole & Rodon return
AL East Probable Pitchers for 3/26/26:
3:05 PM - Twins (Joe Ryan) at Orioles (Trevor Rogers)
4:10 PM - Red Sox (Crochet) at Reds (Abbott)
4:15 PM - Rays (Rasmussen) at Cardinals (Liberatore)
Starting the season on the west coast feels like the ideal time to knock out a long road trip. You haven’t settled into a home routine, you’ve essentially already been on the road for six weeks during spring training and there’s extra off days mixed in
Yankees Recap Thread for 3/25/26
defeated the Giants 7-0
W - Max Fried (1-0)
L - Logan Webb (0-1)
Max Fried was absolutely brilliant. Had to strand a couple runners in the 1st and then shut the Giants down for 6.1 innings with no traffic.
