NIH funding is still illegally frozen. Keep contacting your Senators/Representatives and their staff. In person if possible, by phone or email otherwise.
98% of NIH grants that should have gone out this month, didn't. Despite court orders 'unfreezing' the funds, they are frozen. Biomedical research will grind to a halt. Clinical trials will end. All for no reason: the total impact on the US budget is miniscule
Your Senators and Representatives almost certainly have a regional office close to you. A conversation with them costs nothing more than a few minutes of time, and could help.
A group of us met with the Regional Directors in our Senators' regional offices this morning. They understand the importance of research (in general terms). However, they were not aware of what is going on currently (re: F&A). If you can make a similar trip - please do.
We just went in, asked to speak with the Regional Director, and in both cases were invited in. One of the main goals was to ask them to convey information to the legislative team in D.C. If anyone would like info about how we approached it, lmk.
