THE BIAFRAN BLACKMAIL AND THE NIGERIAN STATE
How did we get to Biafra? How did we get to 1967? How did we get to Aburi??? This are questions that sane Nigerians especially the youths should asking themselves. Why did Nigeria wage a brutal war on East which was led by the Igbo ethnic nation???
Biafra happened because federalism in Nigeria was not properly defined and the loophole was terribly manipulated by major ethnic nationalities to build empires by subjugating minorities ruthlessly and radically.
Chief Obafemi Awolowo warned the whole of Nigeria and Zik about the volatility of the Nigerian State and the need to respect the religious and ethnic differences of Nigeria but Zik and his fellow confused "pan blackism and pan Africanist" mobs refused to learn from reality. They wanted ethnic nations to dissolve while also promoting Igbo nationalism at the same time. How? Zik was the first president of the Igbo state union in Nigeria.
Awolowo wanted secession clause in the Nigerian constitution in order to Avert the bloody wars of 1967 to 1970. Zik said No, that Nigerian unity was not negotiable only to become a Biafran few years later.
The unitarist ideology for power and hegemonic control did not end only in the East, we also have it in the North. The Tiv massacre or riot of 1961 was as a result of ethnic minorities in the middle belt who wanted to fight for their own political and economic emancipation from the Hausa/Fulani dominated Northern region. More than 50,000 middlebelterns were either killed or missing during this uprising.
The reality of 2024 is that Biafran Nationalism has become a tool in the hands of South Easterners to negotiate for power at the centre,to get away with evil, to turn the victims into the villains and to avoid any form of social responsibility for their actions within the Nigerian state.
For example, when people like us and other federalists demand for ethnolinguistic federalism in Nigeria, in order to create a relatively stable political environment which will ensure prosperity in Nigeria, a lot of Southeastern people are quick to shout give us Biafra or scream Igbophobia. The question to them is, what is your definition of Biafra??? No Ijaw, Efik or Ogoni will open his eyes to go and join any Igbo centric Biafran republic in 2024. The old Eastern region is dead and buried never to rise again because the ethnic minorities have tasted political autonomy under the current arrangement no matter how inadequate it is.
Federalism ensures balance, protects minorities and appreciates differences in Nigeria but a lot of and Biafran nationalists do not want an idea of Nigeria. They want a Nigeria where they can build a bigger Biafra which gives them unfettered access to the political power over indigenous people in the name of faux patriotism.
Britain learnt the hard way that forced unification of disparate ethnic nationalities without allowing them to practice federalism will lead to bloodshed after 300 years bloody non stop Irish rebellion. This is why United Kingdom has a regional system of government not unitarist system and nobody is using intermarriage and faux patriotism to manipulate others to their advantage.
Dear Biafran nationalists, Nigeria didn't fight you to enforce Azikwe and Ironsi's warped and diabolical vision of Nigeria. That war from the Yoruba point of view was to liberate ethnic minorities, enforce true federalism and protect the sovereignty of Nigeria. You were not brought back into Nigeria to continue operation no man's land.
Take for instance the Ijaw nation that fought with their lives to get Bayelsa state as their own sub national entity within Nigeria, will they fold their hands while 500,000 Southeasterners transfer their PVC into Bayelsa in order to enforce an Igbo resident as the governor of Bayelsa state? That will surely lead to war and anarchy, that was exactly what happened to the Southwest in 2023 elections.
Nigeria is a country of ethnic nations.
😂 They have stormed his DM abusing him 🤣
After an Igbo man called his fellow Igbos “ useless “ for always shouting let us go , Give us Biafra but would travel to east for December and still come back Yoruba land . Why not stay east ?
He made another video to Igbos sending him DM
I am from the Igbo tribe, We the Igbos are very confused. Next min we want Biafra, Next minute we want to be president. The best thing that will happen to Nigeria is to let the Igbos go.. Says an exhausted Igbo man
The Biggest f:ools in Nigeria are those who think forest guards and a centralised policing system will save Nigeria and Nigerians from Jihadists.
The Jihadists are within us and live amongst us, only local solutions can solve this madness.
A local policing authority will not allow the likes Mufti Iwo and their likes to thrive in Yorubaland. But with a centralised policing system and powerful salafi preachers who openly preach religious fundamentalism in the North, we will never be able to defeat terrorism.
Pantami is currently scheming on how to become a governor and we expect terrorism to be crushed????
Terror apologists do not change, they only change tactics.
@yorubachic Its why we begged Yorubas to always spell it as Ibo. They even sold a book on amazon claiming rights to Ife cuz of that word. Its IBO cuz thats how Zik, Achebe and Mbadiwe spelt it then.
When we correct misinformation on here they say we are doing too much. Some guy came on tiktok recently to say Igbos are indigenous to Yoruba land, a few handles called him a mad man and moved on.
Now look at what Google AI is saying and using as reference, it is clearly not just one mad man, people are making multiple posts and feeding AI.
Igbó means forest or bush in Yorùbá and has nothing to do with other ethnicities in Nigeria. AI is clearly important in discussions and a lot of people use grok to challenge others’ ideas.
If we don’t nip this in the bud and respect boundaries this could create rifts and future land struggle for coming generations. A word is enough for the wise.

@ThinkYoruba_1st presents:
YORÙBÁ IN A MULTIPOLAR WORLD
In an era defined by global fracturing, ideological echo chambers, and shifting geopolitical alliances, the world feels increasingly polarized. For the Yorùbá people—both within the ancestral homeland of southwestern Nigeria and across a sprawling global diaspora—navigating this fractured landscape is not merely a contemporary challenge; it is a test of cultural endurance.
Historically, the Yorùbá worldview has never been rigid or insular. It is inherently dynamic, built upon a sophisticated framework of diplomacy, cosmopolitanism, and a profound understanding of human nature. At the core of Yorùbá philosophy is the concept of ***Omoluàbí***—the personification of virtue, intellectual humility, respect, and community-mindedness.
In a politically polarized world where nuance is often sacrificed for tribalism, the ideals of the *Omoluàbí* offer a vital antidote.
Surviving a polarized world requires a deliberate reclamation of these ancestral tools:
* **Elevating *Ìwà Lewà* (Character is Beauty):**
Prioritizing ethical leadership and civil discourse over the fleeting highs of partisan warfare.
* **Leveraging the Diaspora:**
Utilizing the global network of Yorùbá people to build economic resilience and cross-cultural bridges that transcend local political divides.
* **Fortifying Cultural Identity:**
Ensuring that the language, oral histories (*Apòló*), and spiritual philosophies continue to provide a grounded sense of belonging, preventing individuals from being easily swept up by polarizing external narratives.
This serves as both a roadmap and a rallying cry. It does not suggest that the Yorùbá should retreat from the global stage to avoid polarization; rather, it argues that they should step into the fray equipped with the unique intellectual and ethical tools of their heritage. By anchoring political engagements in deep-seated cultural wisdom, the Yorùbá people can move beyond mere survival, offering a fractured world a masterclass in harmony, resilience, and coexistence.
A powerful gathering of traditional rulers, policymakers, intellectuals, media voices, youth leaders, and cultural stakeholders. shaping the future of Yorubaland.
We will need your support as usual.
