The Mikel Brown Jr situation is so unfortunate on so many levels

Personally, I don’t doubt that he is hurt or is having back issues on some level. I’m not mad that he isn’t going to give it a go. I’m frustrated & disappointed, but not angry. He’s done at UofL, and as a fan I’ve moved on & I wish him well moving forward.

But given the timing of things, I’d like to again give credit to guys who have very recently earned their toughness stripes

Last week Isaac McKneely had his forehead split open & had staples placed. Minutes after the injury he was back in the game

Last season Reyne Smith played no where near healthy w/ a badly sprained right ankle. He did all he could to help his team before ultimately collapsing & being carried off the court

James Scott had teeth knocked out last season and tried to go back into a game before being stopped. He finished the season breathing through a Hannibal Lecter style mask

There have been other injuries obviously through the years and semi recently but the aforementioned guys really earned my respect

I’m fully behind the team Pat Kelsey will put out on the floor in a few hours.
