Trial and error is one thing but as a player, I want my experience to have my in game deaths be at my own expense. The last one I mentioned was something I actually have dealt with in a game (the platforming was really unnecessary and random).

I need horror devs to ensure that any section of the game doesn't have me die a billion deaths. The more frustrated I am with a difficult enemy, puzzle, lack of instruction, or poorly designed platforming, the less scared I will be.

I played a horror game last night that frustrated me SO bad.

Here are some things I can’t get over when playing indie games as feedback.

⭐️ PLEASE optimize the game. Offer low settings. I have a high end PC and can’t run half of these indie games because they have crazy ass graphics.

⭐️ GIVE OBJECTIVES. Fun graphics don’t justify having to run around aimlessly with no sense of direction for 40+ minutes.

⭐️ Puzzles can be fun, but if the entire game is puzzle after puzzle after puzzle… I’m quitting. Give the story some depth. Diversify the play-style. Repeated puzzles cause burnout.

That’s all for now. I still adore you, game devs! Just… please give me less headaches.

@vexmlk The only place I have a self-promo channel is in my private friends/hangout Discord for event promo. Not my main community. And it's not willy nilly self-promo. It's for events only. My friends can push their events because events take a lot of time and effort to do.

@Pippin_Otter The only time I see self-promo channels work are a) if the rules/onboarding state "please be active and don't only use the self-promo channel" in communities that aren't specific to a streamer or b) if it's a perk like being a server booster or Twitch subscriber
