Israeli soldiers are reportedly torturing Dr Abu Safya --a pediatrician, for God's sake!
Without strong pressure on Israel, these may could be his last hours.
@ICRCPresident@DrTedros
It's been 1000 days since the genocide in Gaza began.
During this time, I lost my job as a doctor in London, had my medical licence suspended, was arrested 5 times, charged and now awaiting a criminal trial in the courts of occupied Britain.
And I can't begin to explain how pathetically insignificant that all is compared to a single second in Gaza.
Where the equivalent of ~10 nuclear bombs has been dropped on a piece of land you can drive through in 30 minutes.
Where hundreds of thousands have been martyred.
Hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, orphanages bombed.
Men, women, and children sniped, starved, bombed, burned, kidnapped, tortured, raped, and displaced by 'israel'.
A campaign of total erasure against a native population of whom 50% are children broadcasted to the entire world. Waged by foreign invaders against Palestinians because they are not jewish.
And it continues.
1000 days and 78 years of genocide and occupation.
1000 days and 78 years of Palestinian steadfastness, resistance, and bravery.
All I can say is I wish I could have done morethat humanity could have done more. And I pray we live to witness the end of 'israel' and the religious supremacist ideology of zionism.
Palestinians are still fighting and so will we.
And victory is but an hour's patience.
Israel has begun to STEAL olive trees in south Lebanon.
Typical trees last 100-150 years, but in Kawkaba and Deir Mimas, Lebanon some have survived 2,000+ years.
These HISTORIC trees are from the time of CHRIST, so Israel is destroying them.
Everyone needs to hear this.
The UN didn't print the names of Palestinian children murdered by Israel.
Why?
Because they feared Israel would respond by murdering their families.
Israel is a threat to everyone on earth.
2017 Legal opinion by EU Commission’s then top lawyer; bloc was legally entitled to suspend cooperation with Israel, such as its Horizon Europe science grants & Erasmus student-exchange scheme due to Israel’s violations of international law in West Bank

This is Khalifa from Gaza, he came to Ireland twice, played football, met the President, charmed us all. He was a Palestine National Youth Team player. He was 20 when he was murdered by Israel, one of the 421 football players they killed. He is why the FAI must not play Israel.
The Zionist regime fired live ammunition at Irish activists before kidnapping them in International waters.
There’s a vote tomorrow re Sanctions against Israel.
TDs will be making career decisions.
Take note @fiannafailparty@FineGael
Irish Wheelchair Rugby were drawn against Israel in the European Championship that will take place on May 28. The Irish team plans to protest the match.
Team player Alan Dineen announced that he will boycott the game against Israel and made the following statement:
“I am boycotting the game against Israel because I cannot separate sport from the reality of what is happening in Gaza and Palestine. Through my fundraising work with Aclaí Palestine in the Aida Refugee Camp, I have seen first hand the impact that occupation and violence have on people’s daily lives. Gaza now has one of the highest numbers of child amputees per capita in the world, with thousands of children having lost one or more limbs.
I believe what is occurring constitutes genocide, as described by numerous human rights organisations and legal experts. Sport is a powerful platform that can create social change, and I believe athletes have a responsibility to take a stand when fundamental human rights are at stake.”
REVEALED: It took 18 months, and multiple FOI battles, but we can now reveal Ireland approved €20 million in military-capable dual-use exports to the IDF and Israeli Ministry of Defense during the height of its military assault on Gaza in 2024.

Mehdi Hasan asked Israeli lawyer Ben Marmarelli what can be done when former prisoners describe barbaric torture and rape by prison guards
'I told the courts. The courts said they will not discuss torture and rape. The police close every complaint. No charges have ever been filed.
I had a client who was raped every time I visited -different guards each time. It's systematic, not isolated'
⚖️ Four Gaza Doctors Starved and Held Without Charge in Israeli Prison, Lawyer Says
A lawyer visiting four Gazan physicians detained at Israel’s Ktzi’ot Prison noted all four are held without charge, and found them facing deteriorating conditions including severe food deprivation, confiscated mattresses, and untreated medical conditions, according to Physicians for Human Rights Israel.
The physicians — Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director and pediatrician at Kamal Adwan Hospital; Dr. Muhammad Ubaid, a surgeon at Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals; Dr. Murad Alkuka, head of orthopedic surgery at Al-Shifa Hospital, detained for 780 days; and Dr. Akram Abu Odeh, head of orthopedics at the Indonesian Hospital, detained for 900 days — reported no improvement in food quality or quantity since their detention. Dr. Alkuka reported losing 35 kilograms, roughly 77 pounds, over the course of his imprisonment.
The group said two of the physicians described court hearings lasting only minutes, held without legal representation, at which their detention was extended indefinitely despite no charges being filed.
Prison guards confiscate their mattresses each morning, forcing them to sit on the floor or metal bed frames all day. Two had their glasses confiscated and repeated requests for replacements have gone unanswered.
PHRI said it has petitioned Israel’s High Court of Justice demanding the physicians’ release, and called on local and international organizations to act.
@Eve_Barlow You know the IOF video their every depravity. If you cannot believe Palestinians you know the evidence For this will come from the IOF. But there is nothing Zionism can do that you won’t deny or excuse.
“No one escaped sexual assaults… Not all were raped, I would say, but everyone went through humiliating, filthy sexual assaults”: Details on the individual cases of Palestinian prisoners abused in Israeli detention, interviewed by NYT:
▪️Sami al-Sai, a 46-year-old Palestinian freelance journalist, said guards beat him, stepped on his head and neck, stripped him naked, and tried to force a rubber baton into his rectum before one guard shouted in Hebrew: “Give me the carrots.” He said guards then assaulted him with a carrot while laughing. “It was extremely painful,” he told Kristof. “I was praying for death.” A female guard allegedly grabbed his penis and testicles and joked: “these are mine.” Al-Sai said guards later left him handcuffed on the ground during what he realized was “their smoking break.” When he was finally dumped into a prison cell, he said he discovered “other people’s vomit, blood and broken teeth” crushed into his skin. He told Kristof he believed the abuse was partly intended to pressure him into becoming an informant for Israeli intelligence.
▪️A Palestinian farmer held for months without charges under administrative detention said guards pinned him down by his arms and legs, stripped him, and raped him with a metal baton while “laughing and cheering.” Hours later, after collapsing and briefly being taken to a prison clinic, he said guards raped him again with the baton. “I was bleeding,” he recalled. “I broke down completely. I was crying.” After he asked for pen and paper to file a complaint, guards returned to his cell later that evening. “Who is the one who wants to file a complaint?” one mocked before the farmer was beaten and raped a third time. Another guard allegedly told him: “Now you have even more to put in your complaint.” Days after speaking to Kristof, the farmer reportedly withdrew permission to use his name after a visit from Shin Bet officers warning him not to “cause trouble.”
▪️A 23-year-old Palestinian woman arrested after October 7 said Israeli soldiers threatened to rape her, her mother, and her young niece during her arrest. She told Kristof male and female guards repeatedly stripped her naked, handcuffed her behind her back, bent her over toilets, beat her, and groped her body during repeated “searches.” “They had their hands all over my body,” she said. “To be honest, I don’t know if they raped me,” because she sometimes lost consciousness from the beatings. “It was as if they were introducing me to everyone who worked there,” she said. “At the beginning of each shift, they would bring the guys to strip me.” Before release, she said six officials warned that if she spoke publicly “they would rape me, kill me and kill my father.”
▪️A Palestinian journalist from Gaza said guards zip-tied his penis and testicles for hours while beating his genitals so badly that he urinated blood for days afterward. “No one escaped sexual assaults,” he told Kristof. “Not all were raped, I would say, but everyone went through humiliating, filthy sexual assaults.” He also alleged that while blindfolded and handcuffed, guards summoned a police dog that mounted and penetrated him while guards photographed the rape and laughed. “They were using cameras to take photos, and I heard their laughs and giggles,” he said. After release, he said an Israeli official warned him: “If you want to stay alive when you return, do not speak to the media.” Despite the threats, he said he spoke publicly because “there are people still in there.”
▪️Three Palestinian teenage boys detained by Israeli authorities described sexual abuse, beatings, forced nudity, and repeated rape threats directed at both them and their mothers. One 15-year-old boy told Kristof guards routinely threatened detainees by saying: “Do this or we’ll put this stick up your butt.” The boys described rape threats and sexual humiliation as routine parts of detention.
The level of courage it takes for these Palestinian victims of rape to talk openly about what is being done to them while in Israeli custody -- in the face of threats that the assaults will be repeated -- is awe inspiring.
Kristof even found three children raped in Israeli custody. Cutting off funds is not enough. Only sanctions and prosecutions can bring some semblance of civility back.
Medical workers are 3 times more likely to be killed in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. They are very deliberately targeted. They know this. They are the bravest people on earth.
🚨New Testimonies Reveal Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya Stripped, Beaten, and Set Upon by Dogs in Israeli Detention
Three recently released Palestinian prisoners have provided harrowing testimony about the condition of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, who has been held in Israeli detention since his arrest on December 27, 2024.
Released prisoner Ahmad Qaddas said he initially did not recognize Abu Safiya due to his physical deterioration. He described the doctor spending most of his time “sitting in a daze,” barely able to speak, while fellow prisoners could hear him screaming during beatings but were powerless to intervene — with those who tried to help facing tear gas raids.
A second witness, Hamza Abu Omeira, said Abu Safiya suffered constant vomiting, could not keep food down, and was denied medical care. He described seven consecutive days during which prisoners were shackled by both hands and feet. He said Abu Safiya was also reportedly forced to repeat degrading phrases about himself under torture.
A third released prisoner said he witnessed Abu Safiya being stripped, beaten after interrogation, and attacked by police dogs that “scratched him and knocked him to the ground.”
All three witnesses warned he faces imminent death if not released immediately. Abu Safiya is one of 737 medical workers arrested by Israel since the start of the war, according to Al Jazeera.

I can’t stop imagining making the choice to run as far as you can from anyone you love so you can hopefully be killed alone. I just. I’m so fucking angry and sad. This is something beyond evil.
