@OroroWasHere@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud Me comparing a mixed person to a black man is a conversation around colorism and https://t.co/BWGfAlVqFq obviously understand the difference between the two. Not go ahead and do the simple math please. Lol.
@OroroWasHere@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud Reading to comprehend would be fantastic. My whole conversation (that you chose to jump into) was around mixed people NOT being black. So did you just want to add your two cents orrrr??
@OroroWasHere@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud Again- the same way we wouldn’t call a black person with light skin white is the same way we should not call a mixed person with brown skin black. Doing this invalidates the experiences and existence of actual black people. It is OKAY to just be mixed.
@OroroWasHere@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud If you’re saying that a light skinned black person and a mixed black personality have the same experience I think you really need to reevaluate the impact of race in American. Acknowledging that is not equating blames with oppression, it’s recognizing that it exists.
@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud So in your eyes, the man with a black father on the left will face the same discrimination as this black man on the right? Like be honest.
@sarrahgeez @chicagofinest43@DailyLoud Both of these people are mixed race persons who benefited from not being fully black. Doors opened because of that. We still have not had a black president.
@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud A mixed race person does not face the same struggle that a black person faces. It’s an unfair reality. It’s okay to be mixed. Not everyone is black and that’s fine. Not everyone has to be “invited to the cookout” and that’s okay. This is a mixed race person and he should be proud
@AjadeanPiper @paulguynj @RenxSen4 @_Nineteen96 @Trent3860 @DailyLoud By labeling every mixed race person black because of a racist “one drop rule” you’re diminishing the struggle/ discrimination that BLACK people face everyday. Colorism, featurism, etc. have systemically held black people back for centuries & still does. We cannot minimize that
@brittanyydeneen@jockosims@LiveLoveJocee@NBCNewAmsterdam You worded this perfectly. So funny when people try to ignore fact to prove a point. It was a poorly written and offensive scene… But I guess we should shut up and feel grateful for even being mentioned? (Seeing how unambiguous black women are almost always erased from shows)
@bettercallfee You’re being willfully ignorant if you’re saying you can’t determine the difference between a blonde blue eyed black person and white person. It okay to be mixed. Being mixed by definition means you are not black… because you are a mix of two races. It makes you mixed race.
