चीनने मार्च २०२६ मध्ये मंजूर करून १ जुलै २०२६ पासून लागू केलेल्या ‘Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law’ मुळे तिबेटी जनतेच्या सांस्कृतिक ओळखीवर, मानवी हक्कांवर आणि धार्मिक स्वातंत्र्यावर गंभीर परिणाम होण्याची शक्यता आहे.

भारतामध्ये वास्तव्यास असलेल्या तिबेटी निर्वासितांच्या सुरक्षिततेचा आणि स्वातंत्र्याचा प्रश्नही यामुळे निर्माण होतो. चीनच्या या कायद्याच्या संभाव्य extraterritorial implications बाबत तिबेट अॅडव्होकसी अलायन्स इंडियाने मांडलेल्या चिंतांकडे केंद्र सरकारने गांभी��्याने पाहणे आवश्यक आहे.

या पार्श्वभूमीवर मी परराष्ट्रमंत्री डॉ. एस. जयशंकर यांना पत्र लिहून या कायद्याचा भारतात राहणाऱ्या तिबेटी नागरिकांवर होणारा संभाव्य परिणाम तपासावा.
तिबेटी जनतेचे मानवी हक्क आणि सांस्कृतिक अस्मिता याबाबत भारताने आंतरराष्ट्रीय व द्विपक्षीय व्यासपीठांवर ठाम भूमिका मांडावी.
तसेच भारतात राहणाऱ्या तिबेटी निर्वासितांच्या सुरक्षिततेसाठी आवश्यक पावले उचलावीत ही मागणी केली.

भारताची परंपरा ही मानवाधिकार, न्याय आणि शोषितांच्या हक्कांच्या संरक्षणाची आहे. त्यामुळे तिबेटी जनतेच्या मानवी हक्क, सांस्कृतिक ओळख आणि स्वातंत्र्याच्या प्र��्नावर भारताने मौन न बाळगता केंद्र सरकारने स्पष्ट आणि ठाम भूमिका घ्यावी. #Tibet #China

Tibetan activist Loga Rangzen has died after setting himself on fire outside the United Nations headquarters in New York. In a Facebook livestream recorded moments before the incident, he appealed for Tibetan independence and unity. He later died from his burn injuries at Bellevue Hospital.

In a speech in the House of Representatives on Tibet Lobby Day, Susan Templeman MP spoke about the community of Tibetans living in her electorate and their shared concern about transnational repression.

Ms Templeman, who is a co-chair of the Australian All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet, recognised His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s appointment of the Gaden Phodrang Trust as the sole authority to recognise a future reincarnation and affirmed the Australian government’s view that no government should interfere in the selection of religious leaders. Ms Templeman also urged the Chinese government to recognise the fundamental human rights of Tibetans and their rights to maintain their distinct cultural and religious identity.
