In 1941, someone counted all the wild whooping cranes left on Earth. There were 14.
Fourteen birds, one flock, migrating between the Texas coast and a remote corner of northern Canada. A species that may once have numbered 15,000 to 20,000 had been reduced by hunting and habitat loss to a population small enough to fit on a school bus.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service confirmed in a release this June that the winter 2024–25 count for the Aransas-Wood Buffalo population reached a record 557 birds. Nearly all of today's whooping cranes trace their ancestry to that tiny remnant flock.
The population has grown at roughly 4 percent a year for decades, thanks to legal protection, captive breeding programs, cooperation between the United States and Canada, and the preservation of critical habitat on both ends of their migration.
557 birds is still not many. The whooping crane remains one of the rarest birds in North America, and a severe storm, disease outbreak, or other catastrophe could still undo years of progress.
But 557 from 14 is one of the most remarkable numbers in conservation.
Someone counted them in 1941 and refused to let that be the final count.
A massive wave crashes over the rooftop of an oceanfront condo in Hawaii, ripping shingles away as water surges across the building.
The wave slammed into the Keauhou-Kona Surf and Racquet Condominium complex in Keauhou, sending debris flying through the air as residents watched the powerful swell roll through.
It's not the first time the property has taken a hit. The same complex was battered by enormous waves in 2022 during a major swell event linked to Hurricane Darby.
And here it is. I told you they are targeting our farms in Forsyth County. This is the one right down the road from the previous farm I posted about and they are doing the same thing to her. Hey @RickJacksonGA you say you are pro farmers what do you have to say about what’s happening in your own backyard because I’m about to start blasting all the farms being targeted in Forsyth County. Forsyth is changing the rules costing these horse farms thousands in lawyer fees @johnrich
So far so good, I've been impressed by the performance of most African teams in this year's #FIFAWorldCup
At least they've proved that they're no pushovers and they're no longer underdogs or whipping boys .
Let's hope @BafanaBafana 🇿🇦 can step up today and win against Czech Republic .
I wish them all the BEST today
25% of US doctors are foreigners.
28,000+ US medical students graduate per year - 1000+ don't get a residency spot.
Of the 44,000+ US residency spots per year, 16,000+ are filled by foreigners!
TMB president Sherif Zaafran is a strong advocate for foreign doctors and led the state to pass the DOCTOR Act last session, easing licensing requirements for foreign doctors.
My daughter spent 4 years earning her bachelor’s degree, followed by another year doing research at UC San Diego and after scoring high on the MCAT to get accepted into medical school. After 4 more years of med school, she’ll be competing for residency — a total of 10 years of hard work and massive debt.
Meanwhile, she’ll be up against foreign doctors who only spent 6 years in their home countries to become physicians.
How is this fair to American students who invest a decade of their lives and hundreds of thousands in debt to become doctors? Why aren’t we putting American doctors first? Who’s going to compensate our kids for this burden?
America First means taking care of our own. 🇺🇸
🚨Georgia, for 24 years, we have been voting outside the law.
Georgia’s voting machines print a paper ballot that voters are supposed to be able to read and verify. Instead, the only thing that actually counts is a proprietary QR code that no voter can read — not you, not your phone, not anyone except the machine’s software. This directly violates both Georgia law (O.C.G.A. 21-2-300) and federal law (HAVA Title III, Section 301).
Two years ago, the legislature passed SB 189 and set a deadline of July 1, 2026 to remove the QR code. Now, during the Special Session that begins June 17, they are trying to push that deadline back to 2028.
🚨This is unacceptable.
The solution already exists in Georgia law. O.C.G.A. 21-2-334 allows counties to switch to hand-marked paper ballots when the electronic system is impracticable — and counties are already using this method for absentee and provisional ballots. Seventy percent of Americans already vote this way.
🎯In the most recent primary, nearly 90% of Republican voters said they want hand-marked paper ballots. The people have spoken clearly — twice.
Here’s what you need to do right now:
1. Call your State Senator and State Representative today.
2. Tell them: Keep the July 1, 2026 deadline. No extensions. Switch to hand-marked paper ballots using the backup procedures.
3. This Special Session could last several days. We need sustained pressure the entire time.
Forward this email to your family, friends, and neighbors and ask them to call too. This only works if we show up in large numbers.

The middle class is getting squeezed by skyrocketing living costs and crushing property taxes, all while subsidizing massive Big Tech data centers that drive up their bills.
Hardworking families are right to be furious. As Lt. Governor, I’ll fight for them not the lobbyists.
Over 7 months since the mass slaughter of hundreds of healthy ostriches at Universal Ostrich Farms, kill pen cleanup begins today.
This dark reminder was left behind for the family to see everyday!

My mom paid off her house in 2003.
Thought that was it. Thought she was done. Thought it was finally hers.
Property taxes were $1,800 a year back then.
She’s retired now. Fixed income. Same house. Same neighborhood.
Property taxes are $24,000 a year.
That’s $2,000 a month.
On a house she already paid for.
She’s 71 years old and the government sends her a bill every year just to stay in her own home.
You never really own anything in America.
You just make payments to a different landlord.
President Trump, sir, respectfully, I am asking you to immediately suspend all Work Visas by your authority as the executive in light of the courts ruling on the H-1B $100k fee. As I said before, we need you to stop the Work Visas entirely because this is hurting U.S. citizen wages and income. Foreigners access to U.S. jobs is not more important than U.S. citizens! Majority of Work Visas are in Information Technology and it’s destroying U.S. citizens from getting IT jobs! U.S. citizens cant feed their families. Suspend all Work Visas!
