“Let me dedicate this award to all of the survivors of international crimes as well as to practitioners and defenders of international justice whose passion and courage continue to ensure that impunity will not be allowed to reign.”
Today Navi Pillay, judge and human rights defender, was awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for her tireless dedication to upholding international law.

From fighting apartheid in South Africa to defending human rights worldwide, Navi Pillay reminds us that peace begins with the courage to imagine a more just world, and to spend a lifetime working toward it. Congratulations, Navi, on your well-deserved Nobel Peace Prize!
"The last thing I did is the report on Gaza naming what is happening there as genocide. One of the main reactions to that report [was] paying tribute to me for my courage.. why would you need courage to speak the truth?"
Navi Pillay upon winning the 2026 Nobel peace prize

Congratulations Justice Pillay!
The committee in granting her the Nobel peace prize: “An international legal system in which war criminals are held to account and the victims of abuse see justice served is a precondition for a peaceful world.”
May this justice start in Palestine
Amazing moment.

We are at the Nuremberg Court; I cannot think of a stronger symbol for her Nobel prize.
We are all so thrilled!
This is her first reactions upon hearing the news:
"If you think racism, apartheid and abuse are bad, then you necessarily oppose Zionism. If you support Zionism, then you necessarily support racism, apartheid and abuse."
How squeamish we are in this new geopolitical kitchen. How easily some of us choose sides against our own country.
Last year, when Ebrahim Rasool got expelled because he said the Trump administration was mobilizing white victimhood (a decision I endorsed), some of you were quick to point out the correct place and decorum of am ambassador.
Now, many of those same voices have changed to defending the ambassador, all based on "asks" that should at best be debated. See the pattern?
Speaking of patterns, have a look at this list of ambassadors openly criticizing their host countries, in breach of diplomatic protocols, and against the strong objection from those countries:
L. Brent Bozell III — United States ambassador to South Africa
Charles Kushner — United States ambassador to France
Tom Rose — United States ambassador to Poland
Pete Hoekstra — United States ambassador to Canada
Brandon Judd — United States ambassador to Chile
Bill White — United States ambassador to Belgium
See the pattern?
For many of you, your breathless indignation and your stated concern for the welfare of the country is little more than a thinly veiled, and terribly transparent, mask to hide your prejudice and your selfishness. If you want to improve the country, and by God we need so much if that, do it from this side of the fence.
If you are sincere about this, as most of you are, stop basing your decisions on fear and sophisticated hate campaigns that use you as gun fodder. Fight for your country without being gullible, without oversimplification, without doing further damage

@NewsflashwJE Crime, including murders are a consequence of inequity and failures on part of Gvt on multiple fronts in SA- including security and policing, but the notion of genocide of any specific demographic is a complete fabrication.

Mmmm... I know this man. His name is Rodney. He lives in Norwood and in his day, before something happened to whatever happened to his legs, he used to run for Rockies Running Club. And on weekdays, ran with a group started by the late Gerald Fox from Old Eds. I've run with him and this group from Old Eds at 5:45am around 2009/2010. He was always rude and obnoxious. But, of course in the past 3 years, what lay hidden behind many "normal" attitudes has now been unmasked for what is: racist zionism (small letters deliberate) & supremacy, add an obsession with murder, rape and vulgarity.
Notice how the other man is reprimanding/restraining the victim. Because "We are always right."
