Michael Knowles today on Mormon controversy:
"But I have to come out here in defense of the Mormons, because if trinitarian theology is the criterion [to be Christian], why are the Jehovah's Witnesses listed as Christian? Why are the Christian Scientists who deny the Trinity?
I'm not changing my views about the Trinity or the essential aspects of the Creed, but it does seem to me that the Mormons are being unfairly singled out here.
Everybody beats up on the Mormons all the time. Mormons are very reliable Republican voters. They live very, very good family lives. They're model citizens in many, many ways. And I do think this would be an example of them being unfairly singled out."

Dad and son are doing batting practice when his son launches one over the fence. Dad can't contain his excitement. Baseball is one of those sports where parents can be directly part of the work, throwing BP, playing catch, hitting grounders, etc
I acknowledge BYU’s lack of tournament success (though last season was lost to injuries as much as anything), but you’re also pointing to 15 years for UCLA where I’m talking about right now, not looking at the past. KY has brought a new dynamic to the program not seen at BYU since the 1950s.
I’d still take UCLA overall, but BYU has a case in the west. Just have to prove it in the tourney for sure.
Today, we join @MLB in recognizing #LouGehrigDay.
Together, we honor Lou Gehrig’s legacy, raise awareness for ALS and support those impacted by the disease 💙
On Memorial Day, I remember Delta Force snipers Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart.
During Black Hawk Down, they inserted into a crash site to save pilot Mike Durant.
Both men died after a prolonged gunfight that saved Durant’s life. Both earned the Medal of Honor.
Memorial Day isn’t about barbecues or beach days—it’s about those American heroes who gave everything for our freedom.
