With so much bad news, it's cheering to hear about someone using their initiative to help endangered species.
A young conservationist in Malaysia saw a mother and baby Dusky langur hit by a car and decided to help protect them.
She got the fire dept to donate old fire hoses and strung them up to create safe crossings and in that area, road deaths fell to zero.

What do you think about this?
British-owned beef giant CPC has been granted a permit to poison and kill 20,000 native galahs and little corellas at one of their vast cattle stations in the NT, Australia.
In its permit application, CPC admits its practices created the problem: “grain production, on-site storage, and cattle feeding have provided an artificial food source.”
Ornithologist Dr Lilleyman was "shocked" to learn of the NT government's decision to grant the permit.
She said that Birdlife Australia is concerned about the potential for secondary poisoning of non-target species occurring close to "an internationally significant wetland".
CPC has ten cattle stations on about 9 million acres. They supply cattle and beef to Asian markets, domestic feedlots and processors, and export live cattle.
The company is owned by Guy and Julia Hands through the Hands Family Office. They live in Guernsey after leaving England to avoid UK tax.
CPC has also applied for massive water licenses for irrigation projects to grow grain sorghum and other crops which will inevitably attract even more birds.
So what happens then? Even wider-scale poisoning of native wildlife?
A "dove release" at a wedding or funeral is a death sentence for the birds.
The white "doves" sold for releases aren't doves. They're domestic pigeons bred to be small and white, and they have no survival skills outside a coop.
DIY releasers often buy white Ringneck Doves or King Pigeons, which have zero ability to navigate home. Nearly all of them die.
Even professional releases with trained homing pigeons kill birds. Hawks take them in the air. Cars hit them when they land exhausted. They collide with windows. They get lost and starve.
Rehabbers pull them in with broken wings, broken legs, raging trichomoniasis, and bodies so emaciated the birds can barely stand.
One rehabber described treating a white pigeon from a release whose throat infection had hardened so completely it distorted the shape of his skull.
There is no version of this tradition where the birds "fly away and live happily ever after." That's the marketing story. The reality is that you paid to traumatize and usually kill a domestic animal for a 15-second photo moment.
If someone you know is planning a dove release for a wedding, funeral, or celebration, tell them. Bubbles, sparklers, dried flower petals, or ribbon throws all photograph beautifully and don't kill anything.
The birds are not props, they are live animals that need proper care.
🐴💔 2 MORE HORSE SHIPMENTS: This morning, cargo planes full of horses left both Winnipeg & Edmonton, bound for Japan—where they will be fattened, killed, & eaten as a raw delicacy. Each plane is likely carrying around 100 terrified horses, packed 3–4 at a time in wooden crates.
It’s been over 4 years since the Liberals promised to ban this heartless industry.
Tell the government to keep its word & protect horses from cruelty: https://t.co/uosYrb8vFn

Let's be clear—"take" means kill.
You now have just HOURS to object to polar bears being killed in Oil and Gas activities year round— for FIVE YEARS.
A quick comment is all that's asked of you. It's very easy.

#ThoughtForTheDay
Animals may not speak our language, but their presence touches our hearts in the most profound ways. As sentient beings and a true gift to humanity, they bring joy, comfort, and balance to our lives.
It is our responsibility to treat them with kindness, empathy, and care - to honor the quiet love and loyalty they offer unconditionally. Let us value and protect these beautiful souls, for they are not just part of our world - they are a vital part of its soul.

This father was doing all of his legal immigration check-ins and had no criminal record.
He’s one of those heroic parents who dedicated his life to taking care of his disabled son, whom he was told would not live past five without a miracle.
As his son said, his father was his miracle, and he lived a meaningful, well loved life deep into adulthood. Then ICE snatched his father — and his son, as predicted, died without him. ICE did not let him attend the funeral.
This level of grotesque inhumanity is unfathomable. This is what our governments are arming & supporting. Israel must be isolated totally, just as apartheid South Africa was

Swifts fly thousands of miles to breed in the UK—only to find their nest sites blocked up.
Their ancient forests with nest hollows now gone, they relied on cavities in buildings, but these, too, have disappeared.
To stop their steep 2/3rds decline since 1995, an inexpensive swift brick nest box was proposed to be incorporated by law into new buildings—also helping other red-listed cavity nesting bird species.
But in a vote last night, UK Labour destroyed a golden opportunity to do this small thing for one of the most nature-depleted countries in Europe.

You probably won’t read this because weirdly—even though our lives depend on it—people on X are not really interested in water.
Worry not—you don’t have to: I’ve included a gripping, short, shocking article which covers the main points you need to know.

#sharknets
In my last post, we saw some of the tragic non-target species caught in Australia’s shark nets.
Here’s what contractors do to hundreds of the target shark species:
Stabbing in the head multiple times & cutting out the heart (gov protocol)
This is the reprehensible level the British media has stooped to. An act of piracy and kidnapping described as this.
Beyond parody. This is where we are.
@DrTOMontgomery Should have been banned years ago. Propeller guards should also be mandatory. Bio-degradable fishing lines should also be mandatory along with lead pellets.
The Freedom flotilla was attacked during the night. The ship was rammed, boarded and the 12 volunteers kidnapped. This is more reprehensible behaviour from the genocidal regime in Tel Aviv.
#Penguins
You may remember the Punta Tombo penguin massacre, when a rancher drove heavy machinery over a penguin colony, killing 240 Magellanic penguins & nests.
He's been fighting his conviction, but the court of appeal has now upheld it, so justice finally has been done.
