In 2018, A popular YouTuber named Jesse uploaded his final viral video. With 33 million views on that video alone Jesse stepped away from his series with a vast feeling of accomplishment But things change. Failed relationships, poor health diagnosis and low audience retention to the channel Jesse felt like his glory days were behind him. You have to remember that shortly after the series ended Jesse released his documentary that to many seemed to fail to gain serious attention from potential buyers. Jesse created another series around the documentary which I thought was kinda interesting that somehow Brian the creator director of the Documentary was greedy and wanted to take the film a entirely different direction than Jesse be it the fans wanted it to go. 3 years would go by and Jesse’s YouTube channel would still struggle to retain audience attention with Series like My Virtual Escape and The Devil Inside. The money just wasn’t coming into the channel like it used to in fact money was actually being spent on multiple failed business ventures like Jesse’s platform Storyfire started in 2017 with film director Brian Spitz. Fans gave him the benefit of the doubt and the platform would run for 8 years before being sold in March of 2025. You see, the point I’m making here is that Jesse continued to have fans supporting his every decision since ending his massively successful psycho series. In 2021 tragedy strikes the ridgeway home when beloved actor Uncle Chris passes away from COVID-19 Complications. Jesse and his family blame Uncle Chris’s boss for killing their family member. In 2024 tragedy strikes again when Aunt Jackie another beloved family member passes away following a blood clot in her leg that moved to her lung. In 2025 the beloved family dog poopy John passes away. John was a 16 year old Labrador and a staple in many of Jesse‘s YouTube series. In 2019 Jesse Ridgeway met his wife Ashley May at Disney World. 6 Years later in 2025 Jesse and Ashley tie the knot and get married on a beach in Ocean City New Jersey. Only 5 months later newly married couple Jesse and Ashley shock their fans by announcing their pregnancy. The fans rejoiced and responded with love and support Jesse and his wife felt loved by his fans once again and rightly so. Unfortunately this is where the story takes an even darker turn. In May of this year Jesse and his wife Ashley try to gain sympathy by announcing to their audience the likelihood of their baby having (Trisomy 21) or Down Syndrome. Rightfully so the news was devastating and shocking to fans who took the news with stride and tried to be supportive. In June of this year the couple announces that they decided to abort the baby at 21 weeks pregnant. The news lit up social media like wildfire. Jesse referred to (Trisomy 21) as a glitch and a difficult life that was not worth living. He publicly shamed the down syndrome community and parent’s who decide to keep their special needs children. Fans and News outlets were horrified. Overnight Jesse became one of the most hated Youtubers on the platform and on social media. Even the speaker of the House Mike Johnson voiced his displeasure in Jesse’s decision. In a panic, Jesse doubles down stating he has never seen so much hatred from fans and loved ones. How did this happen? How did a failed YouTuber who has faced one tragedy after another suddenly take the internet over one tweet? Is Jesse the next Hitler? Was his decision to terminate the pregnancy made out of a callous act, arrogance or the need to play god? I personally haven’t liked Jesse since 2017. I still watch him I even met him once in NYC in 2018 for his psycho series but I always knew something was off about him.
