An SSL certificate is the bare minimum, not a security strategy. Update the stack, rotate the keys, restore a backup once a quarter to prove it works.

Trust in a project is built one honest weekly update at a time.

I keep functions small and boring on purpose, boring code is the code that does not page you at night. Write it so a tired colleague can follow it at five on a Friday. Ship it.

Templates get you online fast and then quietly cap how far you can go. The right foundation costs a little more once and saves a lot for years.

Most small sites are not losing to competitors on Google, they are losing to their own missing basics. Fix the basics first, the fancy stuff only matters once the basics stop leaking.

A website that does not say what you do in the first five words is making people work. Put the price, the phone and the proof where nobody has to scroll for them. Small thing, big difference.

What founders get wrong about a first website is thinking it is finished at launch. Show progress every week, not perfection at the end, trust is built in the updates. That is the whole job.

Most performance problems are three images and one plugin away from solved.

Using Claude on a project is like having a fast junior who never gets tired and never gets offended by review. Read every line it writes as if a stranger wrote it, because one did. That is the whole job.

Clean code is not about elegance, it is about the next developer, who is often you in six months. Readable first, fast second, clever never, that order has not failed me yet.

A good API is one you can guess correctly.

Most useEffect bugs are not React bugs, they are a misunderstanding of when things run. Keep state close to where it is used and most of the complexity disappears. That is the whole job.

A website that takes four seconds to load is not slow, it is closed. Compress the images, cut the third-party scripts, cache what never changes. Boring fixes, real results. Nothing fancy, just done right.

The drag-and-drop builder is cheap on day one and expensive every day after. Build on open, boring, portable tech and you will never be held hostage by a plan upgrade. Ship it.

Most hacked small-business websites were not targeted, they were just unpatched. Boring hygiene beats clever tooling, and it costs almost nothing. Cheap to fix, costly to ignore.

Clients do not buy code, they buy an outcome and a person who answers the phone. Write down what done means before anyone writes code, and most disputes never happen.

[Shake Minasyan @ShakeMinasyan]

The feature that always takes longer than the client expects is the one that touches other systems. Get it in front of a real user this week, the feedback is worth more than another week of guessing. Most teams skip this.

[Shake Minasyan @ShakeMinasyan]

The boring, proven stack outruns the new shiny thing on almost every client project. Choose the tech your team can debug at midnight, not the one that looks best on a slide. It compounds.

A 6 MB hero image is the most expensive thing on most small-business websites. Measure it on a cheap phone on a bad connection, that is where your customers actually are.

[Shake Minasyan @ShakeMinasyan]

A form with twelve fields on a phone screen is a form nobody finishes. Big tap targets, short forms, the phone number one tap away. Nothing clever, just respectful.
