The @labour government just turned down £40-50million of revenue to the UK economy because one of the world's most popular music artists said some awful things about Jewish people which he has subsequently regretted, apologised for and offered to repair by meeting key Rabbis.
Let that sink in... Terrifying times.
Unfortunately, I think football is either finished, or heading that way.
VAR, people wanting complete control, any excuse to guarantee income and minimise risk.
Football is a game largely played on instinct, emotion and risk. But when you have that, it leaves more things to chance. The people at the top don’t want that.
So they’re trying to put as much control into a sport that is built on emotion and instinct.
It’s the same effect as drawing lines onto each Da Vinci painting before he starts, telling them he needs to stay within them.
The art is gone. Except. These morons don’t even realise you still can’t guarantee control or 100% success so they’ve sacrificed the soul of football for a an idea they literally can’t even achieve.
Football isn’t the same. It will only get worse. If it wasn’t my passion for improving and working with individual players, I’d have stopped watching.
You’ve got to be a different type of freak to spend £6/£7 on a pint, take a sip of it then patiently wait for the penalty to hit the back of the net so you can throw it into a crowd. Mental illness.
And while the country celebrate, spare a thought for John Hunt. I can’t remember feeling so utterly horrified in years. Those poor girls. Truly horrific💔
