I've been full time in the hobby most of the last 30 years.

I can only remember two times when buying habits mirrored what is going on with Ohtani cards, & both were for different reasons and shorter lived:

1) McGwire & Sosa Aug-Dec 1998

2) Dale Earnhardt Sr, Feb & Mar 2001
