🚨 Ex-husband guns down 28-year-old beautician in murder-suicide during bitter custody battle.

Meridian Thomas Woodson was shot dead in her Elmwood, Louisiana apartment by her ex-husband Kody Woodson, 30. He then killed himself in a nearby parking lot.

The couple had been fighting for years over custody of their two young daughters, Paisley and Lileigh. Meridian had accused Kody of physical abuse and gun threats during the divorce she filed in early 2024. Kody denied the allegations and claimed she was violent; there had been prior incidents, including her arrest in February 2024 for a fight in front of the kids (she said it was self-defense).

She was found inside the apartment. He died at the hospital. The two little girls are now without both parents.
Abusers frequently escalate violence during custody battles. This is another case where threats turned deadly and left children in the wreckage.
