কংগ্রেস সভাপতি মল্লিকার্জুন খাড়গে আজ পাটনায় প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদিজির পিতার সম্পর্কে অশালীন মন্তব্য করে সমস্ত শালীনতার সীমা লঙ্ঘন করেছেন।

এই প্রথম নয়, যখন কংগ্রেস পার্টি মোদিজি বা তাঁর পরিবারের সদস্যদের উদ্দেশে কুরুচিকর মন্তব্য করেছে। কখনও তাঁর শ্রদ্ধেয় মাতার সম্পর্কে আপত্তিকর মন্তব্য করা হয়েছে, কখনও তাঁকে ‘মৃত্যুর সওদাগর’ বলা হয়েছে, আবার কখনও ‘চাওয়ালা’ বলে তাঁর দারি���্র্যকে উপহাস করা হয়েছে। রাহুল গান্ধীর নেতৃত্বে কংগ্রেস পার্টি প্রতিদিনই শালীনতার সমস্ত সীমা অতিক্রম করে চলেছে।

গত ১২ বছরে ধারাবাহিক নির্বাচনী পরাজয়ের কারণে কংগ্রেস পার্টির মধ্যে হতাশা ও নিরাশা এতটাই বেড়ে গিয়েছে যে, এখন তাদের কাছে আর কোনও নীতি নেই, নেই কোনও ইস্যু। তাদের রাজনীতির একমাত্র হাতিয়ার হয়ে উঠেছে গালিগালাজ ও কুরুচিকর মন্তব্য। জনসাধারণের মধ্যে নিজেদের জনভিত্তি হারানোর পাশাপাশি কংগ্রেস এখন নিজেদের কর্মী-সমর্থকদের মধ্যেও সমর্থন হারাতে বসেছে।

যখনই তারা মোদিজি বা তাঁর পরিবারের সদস্যদের সম্পর্কে ঘৃণ্য মন্তব্য করে��ে, তখনই দেশের মানুষ ভোটের মাধ্যমে কংগ্রেসকে যোগ্য জবাব দিয়েছেন।

Deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic stampede at the Chorbagan Puja pandal at North Kolkata today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this devastating incident.
The Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, CP & Senior Officials are with me, we are continuously monitoring the situation. Cabinet Colleagues and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Samik Bhattacharya accompanied me when I personally visited the injured at the Hospital. We are continuously taking stock of ground operations.
Our immediate priority is providing immediate medical care to the injured and extending every possible support and assistance to the affected families.
As per reports, 17 individuals have tragically lost their lives, and 25 people are currently undergoing treatment. One person remains in critical condition under close observation.
The State Government has announced Rs. 25 lakhs and Govt Jobs as compensation for the victims' families and we will be taking steps for constituting a STF under a Sitting Judge for fair investigation.
Praying for the swift and complete recovery of all those injured.

I was present at a press conference organised ahead of the 42nd Siliguri Mahalaya Road Race, scheduled to be held on 10 October under the initiative of Baghajatin Athletic Club.

This year, the event holds a special attraction with the presence of former Sri Lankan cricketing legend Chaminda Vaas. During today’s press conference, the race jersey was unveiled by him. On the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya, he was also felicitated with an idol of Goddess Durga as a mark of respect and appreciation.

This prestigious road race has been an integral part of Siliguri’s sporting tradition for decades, inspiring generations of sports enthusiasts. Sport is not merely about competition; it instils discipline, perseverance, self-confidence and the values of a healthy lifestyle. I am confident that initiatives like this will further encourage the younger generation to embrace sports and contribute to enriching Siliguri’s sporting heritage.

I was pleased to be present at the inauguration of the construction work for a new bus stand at Paribahan Nagar, Matigara, in Darjeeling district.

The new bus stand will help improve the local transport system and make daily travel more convenient for the people. It is also an important step towards better infrastructure and public facilities in the area.

Hon’ble Minister Shri Anandamoy Barman was also present at the programme.

I am hopeful that this initiative will bring better connectivity and positive changes to the transport system of Matigara, making travel easier and more comfortable for the people in the days ahead.
