⚠️ Children Behind Bars: A Human Rights Scandal in Raqqa
A video shows a group of children and minors released from Al-Aqtan Prison in Raqqa.
The "charges" against them were:
•Raising the new Syrian flag 🇸🇾
•Expressing support for President Ahmad al-Sharaa
•Writing slogans critical of the SDF on school and government buildings
•Attempting to escape forced recruitment camps
These are not crimes.
These are expressions of identity, opinion, and a desperate attempt by children to escape militarization.
Detaining minors alongside ISIS prisoners, criminalizing free expression, and punishing children for political views constitute grave violations of international law, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and fundamental human rights principles.
If the liberation of northeastern Syria achieves nothing more than freeing children and civilians from arbitrary detention by armed groups, that alone would justify urgent international action.
Silence in the face of such abuses is not neutrality, it is complicity.

🚨 Breaking | Raqqa
Shocking testimonies have emerged from several children and minors under the age of 18 who were released today from Al-Aqtan Prison north of Raqqa, revealing serious violations of child rights and international humanitarian law.
The children stated that they had been subjected to arbitrary detention for nearly a year while still minors, faced fabricated charges without fair legal procedures, and were exposed to degrading and abusive treatment. They also reported being deprived of food for an entire week, under detention conditions that severely endangered their physical and psychological well-being.
These testimonies constitute alarming indicators of grave violations that may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, particularly concerning the detention of children, ill-treatment, starvation, and the denial of fundamental rights guaranteed under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international humanitarian law.
