@OresteMercado Oh!!! But my BIGGEST recommendation to anyone seeing this who has crypto is: figure out how much you owe by Jan 1!!!
Then set that amount aside to pay your capital gains tax. If the value of your crypto drops, the IRS DGAF and will STILL charge you for the previous years gains.
@OresteMercado As long as you did them is the important part. If you made a mistake you can just amend it, it's when you neglect to file that they give you worse penalties
Also if you made a mistake and owe more, you'd just get charged a late fee on that amount rather than the entire thing
@giantheplug If for some reason you're not able to get it figured out in time, the IRS has told me it's better to file your taxes with what you can do for now and then amend them later. That'll likely give you lower late fees if you end up owing money because you've already filed+paid some
@giantheplug I recommend using something like https://t.co/2kJcI6Lipu to consolidate all your transactions. Otherwise it's near impossible to figure out how to report them from multiple exchanges or wallets
