It doesnโt seem like Postgres world and auto scaling replicas in azure container apps play nice together.
Butโฆ hear me out. what if one were to create a proxy app on vercel where they redirect the .well-known/workflow/v1/step + flow routes to a container app. Then in said container app you used vercel auth token instead of OIDC when creating vercel world and gave it the deployment id of the workflow proxy app hosted on vercel??
@pranaygp
oh @cramforce@rauchg
please o please allow us to use workflow sdk vercel world from a self hosted next js app.
In the trad enterprise world we must fight for using Vercel inch by inch. One step towards us opening our checkbooks to you is to allow this ๐
@cramforce@rauchg@pranaygp if not i'll have to use an unnofficial azure adapter or continue pulling out my hair with postgress world and further entrench us in the azure world..
in the long run it makes more reasons to stay on azure rather than moving towards Vercel.
Sadly the workflow is our entire ai harness (services/tools/AI/DB layer).
If I'm understanding correctly that's basically like asking to host the whole app there - which I'd love to but like I said.. inch by inch.
Any chance of an official way to use the Vercel World from our own infra - durable token instead of having to run inside a Vercel deployment?
@cramforce@rauchg@pranaygp my understanding:
Vercel World assumes it's running inside a Vercel deployment (via VERCEL_DEPLOYMENT_ID) then authenticates with the platform-issued OIDC token.
Doesn't seem like there's a supported way to give an external host the ID or a renewable token
@thdxr I think this is going to be an important role. Like in the audio world there is a sound engineer thatโs just doing the mixing. Their job isnโt to add to the song but to make sure it comes out right, balance, eqโฆ
