2. Mum’s home now. She has no memory of the events. We are still shocked and scared of what could have happened. She would have died, on her own, but for a staff member walking past. It’s too much.

1. Mum was taken to A&E last week. 20 minutes outside in the ambulance as A&E was so busy. Put in a quiet area because there was nowhere else. IV morphine caused mum’s breathing and heart to stop. Thank god someone happened to walk past the room and notice she’d “flat lined”.

@shones17 The only exercise she could afford was walking. Socialising is talking to people she meets out walking. Heartbreaking and just not good enough 💔😡😭

@shones17 Out walking the dogs yesterday lunchtime, I met an older woman who told me she had phoned her GP surgery 125 times before her call was answered. She was having to wait two weeks to speak to Citizens Advice about paying her energy bills.
She couldn’t afford fitness classes.

@shones17 Starter for ten Shona but so much more is needed. Appropriate training for GP’s, hospital and support staff. So many people with LD diagnosed when they are already terminally ill or not given treatment because they wouldn’t “tolerate” it.

She consulted on the environment and did staff training when I set up services for people with LD and dementia. She’s on the LD/ dementia care home group with HIS too. She’s an absolute expert and a lovely person x
