Yall beat us and we’re better than us last night. Keep all the receipts you want. I never claimed Miami sucked. I do feel confident a week or so before the game but it lessened the more a looked at Miami. We should take defeat with respect of and winner should spend less time sticking it to the loser and more time looking at what’s next. Yall ain’t done it yet but I hope you do to be honest.
@SullenSerf One can lose to an ACC team and still talk shit about the SEC especially when said ACC team beat an SEC team. Also, conferences don’t win games, teams do. The criticism of the SEC is their lack of understanding that simple reality.
Well there is a both-and more than an either-or in this situation. He played really well against the schedule he had in front of him. The stats indicate that he is very talented. Last night confirmed that when he doesn’t trust his o-line he loses his vision and is susceptible to mistakes. Plus, no OSU fan should defend his lack of awareness when it is a good time to run and pick up yards available in front of him.
Honestly, I think he did deserve to be on the podium but I do not think he deserved to win. Except for the winner of the Heisman, no other finalist was either playing in the playoffs and the SEC finalist lost to Iowa. I know he had a good performance but it was not in a playoff game and it was against an Iowa team that SEC homers, like yourself, consider bad (way below Miami talent level).
At the end of the day it is a team sport and we lost as a team. The Heisman is a regular season award and leaving out Sayin would have seemed silly at the time. The is hind sight bias and doesn’t really work for making a valid argument but I still feel no need to be overly defensive about Sayins lackluster performance against quality teams.
Yes. The point of my post is that this SEac account makes claims via the logical fallacy, selective reasoning. The context you offer is correct and should be an important context clue to the result of the game. This SEC account does not offer this context for non-SEC teams to keep SEC teams at a status level they do not all deserve. As you can feel, this is frustrating and unfair.
Oh, we lost and we sucked in both lines.
However your comment is in no way addressing the purpose of my post. You are deflecting. That’s fine. All I was doing was showing how this SEC account does this very same selective reasoning with any team not in the SEC. It seems many Texas fans missed the point of my post.
@levieshkol2000@secnumbersguy I did. Because this SEC account would have failed to mention the same thing about any non-SEC team. That was the point of my post. The argument is illegitimate when you leave out important context.
Good lord Texas fans completely missed the point of my post. I’m making fun of the account not Texas. Maybe Texas would have won the championship this year if they got in. All I know is we will never know. The other thing I now know is OSU is in the same position as Texas… no championship this year.
@OfficialTLew@secnumbersguy I understand. Texas fans did not get the point of my post. Texas is good. Who knows how they would have done in the playoffs. No one will ever know.
What we do know is OSU did not have it. I will eat my humble pie.
It was a joke to make fun of the account not an actual reflection of how I see Texas but obviously that was not clear to many Texas fans.
I did say they would not have gone far in the playoffs but of course I don’t really know that. Just like Texas fans don’t really know if they would have gone deep into the playoffs because there is no way to know.
Anyway, I have no legs to stand on just like Sayin the last two games OSU played in.
Listen. Im glad Michigan lost. I was more so making fun of the selective reasoning this account uses to always frame the SEC as perfect.
Texas is very good and I know they were actually the depleted team. What I wrote, I don’t actually believe. Also, I deserve any shot talk I get from Texas fans because we laid an egg in the playoffs last night.
@BoxingNAutos@secnumbersguy Haha. I mean. I deserve that. Last night sucked. Hope Miami at very least gets to the championship game to make me feel a little better about the loss. But, it suck’s no matter what.
Fair enough. We sucked last night! Or Miami is just that good. Not sure. Either way after last night I don’t have the energy to fight back on football takes I don’t really care about. The season is over for my team. Time to hibernate from sports talk on X. You win. See you next year.
@cane_papa Yes they did. The chickens have hatched and you counted right. Hope y’all go on to kick the ass of whatever SEC team comes out of the other bracket. Yall have my respect (not that you needed it or want it, I’m sure). You played harder and had a better plan.
Miami deserves all the credit for the win. But I also think I really downplayed how easy it would be for Day to take back the play calling and go into playoff mode with high powered offense. This offseason we need some really good offensive staff decision making and we need to better address the o-line.
